Sticky Ice is such a beautiful thing isn't it. Makes 5+ actually not feel like a total slogfest(to a degree), good shit bro. I would of been tilted as fuck if a Trawler hit me like a goddamn missel like that when you were jet booting out. That fuckin thing had HEAT SEEKING on it

Hey love the content! How close would you say haz 5 with all the modifiers are to haz 6? Just curious
@phat-Rat5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! And I'm not sure. All I know is that Hazard 5+ doesn't give you any room for mistakes. You can die within seconds if you get overwhelmed and don't stay on the move. The vulnerability modifier is an absolute nightmare to deal with.

I am of the opinion that it’s harder than 6x2 BUT for all the wrong reasons. Player vulnerabilities is not a good fit for this game, especially with the attack speed modifier. It took me longer to do my TS refinery on 5++ than it did my first EVER 6x2 refinery, and I did that 1000 hours ago. And you know what, I had more fun doing the 6x2 one. And if it’s not fun, why bother. Sorry for the rant but I’ve got some strong opinions on this difficulty. Great run and congratulations!

No worries, I 100% agree with you. Vulnerability really sucks to deal with. Ever try haz5+ with duck and cover modifier? It's hilarious.

@@phat-Rat haha, I haven’t done 5+ but I have done a 6x2 8 egg, which was barrage infector hell (we did not win that one). Also the DD this week has 2 D&C missions so I’m looking forward to doing that 7x2 with my buddy

you call this hazard 5+ all modifiers? this is average hazard 3 for me

Give me your opinion but... I think that people are getting carried by the thought of being a "sticky flames but on ice" but... Is not great, sticky flames are good because of the heat spread and the fact that you can use them preamtembly when a swarm comes, you can place the flames and let them push you and die... The cold ones can't do that, they get destroy as soon as an enemy steps on it meaning not even the very same bug that destroyed them will get the full effect... So for a bug to take constant dmg it has to be already on it and without moving... That happens when you freeze them, but at that point they take x3 dmg from everything, you probably you'll pretty much kill them if you shoot again your primary to create the spikes under them (with your main dmg not the spikes) Looks bad so far but... What's the actual effect of the spikes? Negligible damage over time, really, test it, is almost a joke, and... Half of the freezing that you usually get for the ground freeze you get without overclock (75% of you take both freezing power mods) Small enemies take too long to die, which is funny because since they are frozen, you can almost snease and kill them but this still takes a while... And bigger enemies won't even notice such a small dot. I feel like if they didn't get destroyed when a bug steps on it, it could be a pretty decent overclock, but rn, is almost better to take nothing than using it.

It's one of the strongest driller options we have right now. Crystal nucleation is insanely powerful. I think the swarms and the drilling part of this mission alone proved that. Relying on the dot from the spikes the same way you'd rely on the heat spread and sticky flames dot from sticky fuel is just wrong. You shouldn't be playing that way. You get nothing but upsides and even more easier ways of stopping entire swarms from freezing them. Sticky cryo just makes it easier to freeze big mobs of enemies while not having to rely heavily on cold radiance.
@myr_wlk6985 ай бұрын
@@phat-Rat Hey you are better than me so I might be wrong but, I really don't see how it's better on freezing big mobs of enemies, the freeze the spikes apply is half of the default frozen ground, so if anything it makes it harder.
@phat-Rat5 ай бұрын
@@myr_wlk698 Hmmm, I don't know the numbers, honestly. But the way it feels in combat, it just seems to freeze very effectively. I could very well be wrong about this, but there are other players in the modding community who are far better than me who thinks the same way. I'm also not the best person to ask when it comes to the numbers when getting in-depth on weapon builds. But I really appreciate the thought and effort you put into your question. Something I have to think about.
