I don't know what it is about this song but I always come back to it. It has this strange yet beautiful sense of stillness but also a lot of strong passion. I can't put my finger on it. But all I want to do it listen to it and walk down a cobblestone European street on a calm fall day. I guess this video puts that picture in my head but I find it the perfect background for this song

When I was young, another boy who resembled this singer became an outcast after his father opened up about his sexuality. Everyone in that close-minded town owes him and his father an apology for destroying their lives over nothing. When I watch this video I pretend the singer is you, grown up, happy and talented and it makes me bittersweetly happy. I wish your life had been easier. I am sorry for how we treated you. We should have been friends.
