There are only two known SUMANDWA STOOLS amongst the Akan tribes in Ghana at the moment. 1. Head Stool of all Akans is SIKADWA. Otumfou is the title for the commander in chief of the protectors of THE OATHS OF SIKADWA. 2. ESI DUMAA (very little is known about this powerful female SUMANDWA). The commander in chief of the protectors of the OATHS OF ESI DUMAA is the Aduana Piesie Osagyefo) Oseadeeyo. This SUMANDWA is for only the Aduana clans among the Akan tribes. The day those two SUMANDWA unite, that would be the day all the Akan tribes will unite. History has it that there were many wars between the Asantes and the Dormaa people. Therefore the current conflict between Osagyefo Osedeayo and Otumfou can only be resolved through dialogue. The only kingdom among the Akans that has the ancestral authority to question Otumfou is Dormaahene.
