Just to clarify on the issue about Kenyatta, kikuyus name their first born sons after their fathers. So Uhuru and all his step brothers from Kenyatta's other wives should be called Ngengi Kamau. Ngengi their grandfather and Kamau their father. But Johnson Kamau Ngengi, alias Jomo Kenyatta, named his firstborn sons after his eldest brother Muigai instead of his father Ngengi. If he was Ngengi's true son we would have Uhuru Ngengi Kamau not Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. He also discarded his name Kamau. Kamau Ngengi became Jomo Kenyatta. It's either Ngengi disowned him or he shifted allegiance to his true biological father when Lenana gave him land. What makes Kenyatta 2/3 Maasai is that his grandmother was a Maasai married into the Kikuyu tribe, so his mother was half Maasai. This half Maasai lady married to Ngengi conceived Kenyatta by a Maasai man, not her husband Ngengi. The circumstances around how this happened are what we don't know. Maybe it happened during a raid as Apostle speculates. By the time Kenyatta was having his children he was already a household name, to give them Maasai names would have cost him politically. So he opted to honour his roots by changing his name to Jomo, which means knife in Maasai and Kinyatta (later modified to Kenyatta) which means belt.
