One of the best total band sounds in bluegrass. Everyone plays exactly what the song needs.

I have admired John Reischman’s mandolin work for many years now, starting back when he was playing with the Good Ol’ Persons and the Tony Rice Unit. His technique and tone leaves me absolutely awestruck every time I hear him play. I especially like that he doesn’t get too “notey” in his playing as some musicians are wont to do.

I'm a 3-finger style picker and was intrigued by Nick Hornbuckle's 2-finger style. I saw and heard it on Salt Spring, but have to say it really sounds like a meld of claw hammer and three-finger. Very melodic and rhythmic. It's a unique sound, have to admit. He can make it sound straight 3-finger when he wants or almost double-thumb folkish, depending on the song. Impressive.

brings back priceless memories of the RIVER CITY BLUEGRASS FESTIVALS in Portland Oregon. This group always fit right in with the greatest bluegrass and americana artists from all over the country.

Brilliant and beautiful sound. I guess for us old timers, though, the technical virtuosity of the instruments takes away from the heart and soul of the song a bit. Seems like most blue grass bands have gone for this approach.
