Could you explain the difference between long and short range in terms of X and S band. S band should be set on long range scanning for detection And X on short range for definition?

@@samw2670well, think more of it from the purpose point of view and not coastal/open sea. You can have fishing traffic in open sea when u may have to use X-band and similarly you may need to detect ships quickly during coastal when u would use S-band.
