Top 11 Finishes For Short Guards
Coach Cody's "Basketball Vitamins" series is legendary in that when players commit to doing them daily, they see drastic improvements in their overall game and skillset.
Today's video is geared towards undersized guards and providing a full series of finishes to add to your bag!
This workout should be done 3-4x per week and, as Coach Cody says in the video, with 3 makes on each side with each finish.
Be sure to comment and let us know which finish is your favorite!

Thank you for this video. I hope practicing this helps me out. Bro, layups are my biggest weakness. I can hit a mid jumper, a 3, even a free throw. But layups is what I miss the most. For some reason I get more nervous shooting a layup than a 3 pointer lol. Prob something wrong with me right? 😂
@saint5319
@saint5319 5 жыл бұрын
Jaxon Dakota Practice more layups and gain some confidence. Also, you're less likely to be blocked when taking a jumper whereas on a layup you're somewhat expecting it, you just need to ignore the fear of getting blocked and focus on making the layup.

Layups aren’t treated with the same respect as the jump shot. How do you make the shots? It’s much more than footwork and concentration.
@devincrenshaw4865
@devincrenshaw4865 5 жыл бұрын
It is mostly concentration though. Aim for the front and not the middle, the momentum will take it in. The crazier lays just take muscle memory and repitition.

Setting up your team mates always gets brownie points. Screens, communicating, hustle plays. I'm like 6'1 and I struggle with shorter guys getting up under me and it hard to swipe that low, so I would also recommend being able to drive and dish.

How do you raise your set point
@sarahgraves1993

Abiola Salau just start shooting at a higher set point really close to the goal for a lot of reps until you get comfortable with it
@sarahgraves1993
@sarahgraves1993 5 жыл бұрын
Abiola Salau a good drill if you want your set point really high is to have a partner pass it to you at a high set point (above your head if you want), starting close to the goal and moving out without bringing the ball down just catching and keeping it up there until you get comfortable

Stretch, eat well, eat enough, and sleep enough. This will help you reach your full height potential. Can't help much if the potential is a low one, but all you can do is your best and see what happens.

I have a pelvic tilt that I’m working on does that stop growing?
@devincrenshaw4865
@devincrenshaw4865 5 жыл бұрын
@@ahbeyeah It will make you appear shorter, similar to slouching and over time will actually make you shorter. But if you're working on it you might actually get 1/2 to 1 inch just by fixing it and relatively quickly. That's part of the stretching, the tilt is caused by weak hip or butt muscles.
