Keep in mind: biodegradable and compostable are two different terms! Biodegradable breaks down in the environment, but definitely not as fast as people think it does.

I just love Deepica’s voice 😅...Susan made me throw away all my make up wipes years ago and it’s one of the things that has aged me backwards. Excited for Deepica to fall in love with double cleaning with an oil or balm too ❤️❤️

I have pretty dry skin. Double cleansing with oil SAVED MY LIFEEE. After cleansing I hydrate, then moisturize and then I finish with oil. My skin soaks it all up by the AM lol!

I cannot go to sleep without double cleansing and doing my skincare. However, I grew up being a person that hardly ever did anything for my skin. It's fast, and my 19yo daughter says I look younger at 46 than I did at 40, so that's something:)

I’ve known and loved Deepica since her Birchbox days!! I also must say I love these videos- I stopped using makeup wipes when I was 22, started a retinol routine at 25, and have been an anti-wipe advocate to my friends! My skin has improved IMMENSELY and I’m so glad I’ve had your channel as a resource!

I love all the talk about double cleanse. Since I started using a cleansing balm my skin care night time routine is much faster. I used to spend like 15 minutes just trying to get all the mascara and foundation off. Now I spend 2-4 minutes massaging my balm cleanser and get everything off before a gentle gel cleanser and I’m done so much faster

I think people use facial mist at the end of their routine because they probably think it’s similar to using a setting spray at the end of their makeup application

Susan is right deepica. Oil cleansing is fast. U can see u r actually doing 4step cleansing and still didn’t wash away all the makeup and along the way u r using 1wipe, 1-2cotton rounds, 2cloth and 3product. And oil cleansing only 2produt and 0 extra item and way faster

Yes double cleanse is way better than makeup wipes!! 1) I love masssages so I love massaging my face with the cleansing balm) and then add water for it to emulsify. Then I actually take urban decay makeup meltdown remover spray and press down on my eyes with a cotton pad. And then I use my naturium niacinimide cleanser or cerave cream to foam cleanser. Then I go into toner and I use cotton pad and no makeup is shown!! That’s how I know the double cleanse works!

If I'm not wearing makeup I won't double cleanse, so I don't do it every night but if I am wearing makeup then I can't skip my oil cleanser

@@queenb2450, a water based/gel cleanser doesn't properly remove the spf, so you need to double cleanse.

I love, love, love the Elemis rose cleansing balm 🌹I heard of it thanks to Susan and it's a great product. I am sensitive to rose fragrance but, if I don't use it every single time I cleanse my face, I don't get any reactions. I am so happy Elemis came up with a non-fragranced cleansing balm and can't wait to try it 😊

She has videos on routines. Lightest to heaviest, for nighttime it would be: oil cleanser > cleanser > toner > treatments (exfoliation and/or serums) > moisturizer > oil

Fragrance may not cause an immediate reaction on someone's skin though. It can cumulatively over time sensitise the skin and lead to contact dermatitis down the line especially when worn in the daytime as UV reacts with volatile fragrant compounds and breaks them down into something more volatile and sensitising. So it's best avoided whether your skin is fine with it right now or not.

Oil cleansing is super fast and way easier than spending half an hour rubbing your face with make-up wipes which don't even take everything off, seriously. I have no idea why anyone would want to waste their time with a wipe unless they absolutely have to.

I used to get styes all the time and I started doing double cleanses and it changed my life! I think the other way of cleansing just isn't as effective as removing the makeup especially the waterproof mascara like even if I thought I got it all off it wasn't all off

I love that Susan doesn’t CANCEL people or products for being not good with the skin. She politely and very nicely puts out the information anyone wants to learn from. However, there are many KZbinrs like Dr. Dray who’d just call something ‘worst’ and then give explanation. I think you can always start humbly like Susan. 💞

I think Dr Dray gives as a balanced and respectful explanation as Susan. Dr Dray is never rude or aggressive, she is just to the point and there's nothing wrong with that. I personally can't stand Cassandra's (I don't remember her surname) aggressive and negative approach and that's why I don't follow her.

She is very factual and evidence based in her videos. I agree what u said about Cassandra too god shes negative, just downgrades people. I used to love cleansing wipes, and would look forward to traveling because I would 'splurge' on a new pack of those delicious smelling Neutrogena grapefruit wipes. Now I cringe at the thought of using them, but thankfully I've learned better! It wasn't until I was in my late 20s that I paid attention to double cleansing, serums, sunscreen, etc.All you people in your early 20s..take care of your skin! Most importantly: SPF!! Learn from my mistakes 😂

Can you do a video on travel skincare. Like what you bring if you're on a plane and you can only bring a quart sized bag of 3.4 oz. I feel like I can't bring my whole routine because it can't fit, so what do you bring with the limited space? i'm on a trip now and all I have is ONE cleanser so I can't double cleanse, retinol serum for night time, moisturizer for both day and night, and SPF for day time. But I normally have a day serum of vit C or hyluronic acid and an exfoliating toner too

Someone pls explain. If you do a double cleanse to remove eye make up for example, how do you remove those lingering traces of mascara and eye liner that’s still around your eye area? This is why a make up wipe is so dang tempting coz if u get all that gunk out of the way first, the next steps become a breeze 😩

If my moisturizer contains HA claiming it draws the water for multiple hours and then I apply a mist hours later do I need to top up moisturizer/oil so my skin doesn't dry out? Does the humectant I added earlier draws INTO the skin?

FRAGRANCE IS SENSITIZING, period. From a dermatological perspective, just because a fragrance isn't irritating your skin now, doesn't mean that it won't do so in the future. It is COMMON for people to go decades using a product and then one day find that the SAME product is breaking them out. The irritating factor is almost ALWAYS the FRAGRANCE. Fragrance-free is the way to go if you want to have the best skin possible. PERIOD.

I do it both ways lol. Don’t know exactly the order but most days I do squalene and then my moisturizer. If I forget I’ll still lock in everything at the end with squalene. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I double cleane every night right now it's the bodyshop oil cleanser the one in the bottle that emulsifies and then the aveeno oat cleanser to finish off works way better and I don't wear makeup but if I did wipes r painful and the stickiness of the product I'm not a fan of.

I love the iyura oil. It’s a cheaper version of Ranavat. If you’re not asian you should do a patch test before you use it though.
