When people talk to me about evanescence, they often mention songs like my immortal and bring me to life. and great as they are, there is so much more to this band than the most known ones. songs like this one, as well as lies, away from me, cloud nine and many more are just as good. I love this song, the open door is such a great album

People who don't like Evanescence are people who have only heard Bring Me To Life and/or My Immortal and define the band solely by those songs which they shouldn't. But in doing so, they've not even scraped the surface of Evanescence's musical prowess, and they have no idea how truly beautiful and wonderful this music is. It's a damn shame that this band doesn't get the respect that it so deserves.

The background choir and violins you hear throughout is the end of Mozart's last piece called 'Requiem.' Though, it's also been called Lacrimosa. The piece is actually bout 55 minutes long, but the most famous part is the last 8/9 minutes. This part is about 3 or 4 minutes long and ends the Requiem.
@heavyes

I'm afraid you're wrong..or I've never heard that someone call the Requiem as Lacrimosa. The entire piece is call Requiem, for Anna information, is a piece for a funeral, is a mass for a dead one. As many of classic music is divided in several parts and one of these is call Lacrimosa, there is another one called Kyrie Eleison, the latin words for Lord have mercy, as the same as a song by Mr. MIster, have you ever heard that song? is one on my farites ones. I recomend you to watch the movie AMADEUS, which shows Mozart's life and the end of it describes how Mozart dictates the music of the Requiem to Salieri, another composer that ....you have to watch it by yourselves.... Sorry if my english is not so good, it's not my mother lenguage!!!!hope you understand. My best regards for all of you...Happy Holydays and Happy New Year...from Coquimbo, Chile

heavyes A simple Google search of the word 'Lacrimosa' would tell you that what I say is true. Requiem is very often referred to as Lacrimosa, whether it was by Mozart himself or a misnomer by others, it doesn't really matter. I have seen the movie Amadeus and the worked on the play, so I do have some knowledge.

Cavaille Stepanova see, what you just described is a cop-out for shitty parenting. It’s not actually a thing, no matter what stupid thing people believe. It all has to do with the environment in which kids are exposed. Parents don’t understand the emotional turmoil they put their kids through and so they blame everything else. Rock music, then metal, now video games. It’s the same excuse, just different objects. The fact that you bought into that excuse would be hilarious if it weren’t pathetic and reflective of your possibly toxic parenting style.

Cavaille Stepanova while I definitely agree with the band’s artistry, think about how you said fantasizing about suicide like an idiot. No one actually listens to this kind of music to fantasize about suicide. That’s idiotic. People are already suicidal because their environment is toxic and they want a way out. Music itself is incapable of doing that. People, however, are capable of change but absolutely refuse. See, that’s the difference between a smart person and an imbecile. I sincerely hope you didn’t reproduce or adopt because your gullibility is astounding.

Lacrimosa is "mourning" I believe. I'm pretty sure this bit was known as a requiem for Mozart's late wife.

I love this cover, it's such an inventive and original take on Mozart's song. Obviously Mozart deserves more credit than evanescence for this, but that doesn't mean they didn't do a bloody good job, especially for a such a huge risk.

Also, I find TheKScott89's responses to me to be hilarious. They way he got so angry, and tried to pick a fight, shows that he has nothing better to do than to try and fight with people online. It's why I ended our hilarious conversation. I shouldn't even have stoooped to his level and responded. So, thank you, MsLovelybook, for your comment. :-)
