I noticed some very clean R160s on the Q recently. But more cars need this treatment. Finally...

The MTA should do some heavy cleaning with the R62/As on the 1, 3, and 6 lines and bring back their shine like they once did back in the 80s!!!

I noticed more cars are getting this nice blue tint. I only saw a few R160 cars a long time ago test this out but it is looking like a regular thing. Pimp my NTT lol. :)

Corona yard really did take care of the converted R142A to look clean not like the R142A on the 4
@supermarionathan14263 жыл бұрын
Yeah Jerome does a bad job taking care of their R142As. They need to learn from Corona on keeping trains clean!

Have you seen these dusty ass R142s and R142As on the 2,4 and 5?? Man, Corona has done an EXCELLENT job! If Mosholu, Unionport, and East 180th give a damn about cleaning the trains, they should transfer 1 set per week.

Mosholu* The ones from Unionport, 180th and 239th all look a lot nicer now

These R188’s look amazing, but the amount of glitches in the signage for the (7) is terrible. I really think the R188’s should go to the (6). Lexington Avenue could use CBTC, since it is one of the busiest lines.
@supermarionathan14263 жыл бұрын
Some of these glitches are from converted R188 sets whereas the new built ones don’t have this problem because the converted sets were R142A sets which had this problem before they even got converted. Also the 6 line can’t use R188s mainly because the 6 line uses 10 car trains whereas the 7 line uses 11 car trains, since the R188 are 11 car sets, having these in service on the 6 line would mean the last car would be hanging off the platform which would cause problems for people in the last car if they wanted to get off. That’s why you don’t see these in service on lines other than the 7 line!

I don’t get the difference of R188’s and R142’s do you know how’s the difference? Please answer I want to know.
@bxmxchris4 жыл бұрын
Security Department, ok so the r142 has a line on the top of the trains front, on top of the windows, so the r142 has a huge difference on the r142a and r188 because both of those cars don’t have lines on top of their front windows, however, the r142a is similar to the r188 but the r188 uses cbtc on their 7 line, an r188 has their cbtc console installed behind the drivers cab on the first and last cars, and the r142a first and last cars dont have that

When I was a kid, I realized that the R188 was on 7 train line. Can someone tell me the reason why do we need R188 7 train?
@johnmor35415 жыл бұрын
The 7 got modern signals which need fairly new trains so they took them from the 6.

If you ask me, they should have started with the dirtiest lines first. In this order (based on what I’ve seen): (E), (F), (L), (4), (5), (6), (2), (C), (J), (Z), (M), (N), (Q), and (W).
