When I was a child I remember everyone had at least one fruit tree in their backyard. I'm talking living in a small town in a city lot. Everyone shared with neighbors so everyone got apples, pears, whatever! A good variety for everyone. Then the fad was to cut them down because they were messy and attracted bees and wildlife. What have we done? Everyone had a very small garden also with at least a couple of tomato plants and peppers and maybe zucchini or cukes. Now you hardly ever see that in the city. I'm the only one in my Street that has a small garden. It's in half of my front yard as that's the only place that has sunshine! I don't care that my lawn isn't perfectly manicured. I love the look of my little garden and everyone compliments us. I always share our bounty with our neighbors. That's part of why I plant it. To share it. I can't get enough out of it to can up, I utilize local farms for that.

I love the banana trees. I have never seen peaches get that red before. I had a ton of plums on my trees, I was so excited, I came out one day and every single one was gone. I just keep planting fruit trees and shrubs, I figure if anything, I will harvest at least something from one of them. You grow so many things, it's a paradise. I have noticed that there's more fruit on everything, even fruit on trees I never knew made fruit. A lot of things making fruit for the first time this year too. It's very wonderful, and odd. I have a feeling everyone should harvest as much as possible.. I think a famine is coming and the lord is trying to tell everyone.

I grew up in an old house (central UK) with a 1 acre walled kitchen garden that had what we always thought was a row of five peach trees that always blossomed but never bore fruit for 30 years. Then one year all five trees bore an abundance of weird (to us) looking fruit that turned out to be almonds. 😃

Do the squirrels go after the pecans on the pecan trees too? Also curious if you grow elderberries too, for the berries (jams, syrups and other food things) & for the medicinal benefits (elderberry syrup for immune system/"winter tonic")? Thanks for sharing this video with your viewers. Love to see a "Part2" showcasing ALL of your other fruit and nut producing trees! God bless you both and your permaculture heaven! 👼🙏❤️🐑

Wrapping some tulle around the tree trunk will keep off any ground animals with tiny fingernails. They touch the tulle and their little fingernails get stuck and they think its a trap and avoid it. You can also wrap a swath of a tree in tulle or wrap the individual fruits. Sometimes deer will avoid tulle if there are other things available.

My neighbor has an English walnut tree(I have 2 smaller ones from this tree its a hearty English walnut) we do get frost/freeze problems with getting nuts but when they do fruit for us the chipmunks on my trees and squirrels on his leave us hardly any. But Bt seemed to take care of the web worms and gypsy moths. I have all kinds of tulle that I've used in the garden I might use it on the trees. One of mine is tiny so won't work as the limbs are close to the ground. But it should work on my neighbors tree and they share with me so I could easily wrap that tree for them.

I seem to find new mulberry trees every year. A couple years ago I found a white mulberry tree and that fruit is amazing. I had to pick plums a couple days ago because Japanese beetles where eating them. The first batch I picked had worms but very few in all the rest. I had two branches break because of all the weight. I’ve never seen so many plums. They’ve all been going in the freeze dryer. I have one red haven peach tree with beaches almost touching the ground. It’s never had that many peaches before and they’re almost ready to pick. I keep thinning them out trying to keep the branches from breaking. I have another peach tree that’s loaded but they’re still really small and green. I don’t remember what kind they are. They haven’t been sprayed with anything but I may have to spray with neem oil if the beetles start going after them. The only thing I did to the trees was prune them back a LOT in January. I have a Gala apple tree with more fruit than years before and they’re looking good but yesterday and this morning I caught a deer at that tree looking on the ground. As soon as I open the door to go outside it runs off. I have a TON of wild blackberries this year and ones that are normally small are huge now. I have 3 wild persimmon trees but it looks like only one tree with fruit. I have a couple places close by I have been going to to get those. I have one paw paw tree that hasn’t died. I still want apricot and cherry trees. I don’t know if I want pear trees. I only like them fresh but I don’t care for them that much. I also have one wild fig tree. I need to go look for fruit on it now that I saw on yours where the fruit grows on them. Hopefully, I can order some more fruit trees soon to get planted. I am on my second round of raspberry bushes and they keep dying not long after they’re planted. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve had 3 grape vines die out of 6 before they really get started growing. I think instead of having the place I’ve been ordering from keep replacing all these trees , bushes and vines that I need to order from somewhere else. I wish I could grow bananas and dates here.

I love your peach trees. Hope to have some here soon. We have 100 year old pecan trees in our yard. They are huge. Their limbs non stop fall. So from the tassels in early spring to the limbs to the leaves to the pecans, they are nonstop shedding something all over the ground. They seem to take turns producing. And the squirrels love to eat them, store them and hide them in the dirt all over the yard.
