As soon as I retired as a Rural Letter Carrier from the Postal Service at age 62, I started drawing my Social Security. I didn’t know if it would be there if I waited. Got tired of the stress of the Postal service, walked into my Postmaster and said, I ain’t doing this anymore because I know how to live on a budget and Lord willing I can make it. My husband and me do just as well retired if not better than we did working.

My parents lived on a farm and grew the majority of what we ate. Things I remember them buying was coffee, tea, and flour. They did have corn ground for meal up until the last couple years of my dad's life when he became so sick. He didn't have insurance so his old doctor really didn't get the test done that might have saved his life, although I doubt any test would have saved his life. He passed away when I was 16 and the man who owned the farm we lived on had us move because my brothers were to young to work the farm. That is when we became dependent on the grocery store. I dropped out of school and went to work in a textile mill and helped feed and clothe my younger siblings. I know what it's like to be poor, very poor. I'm very thankful for that now because it made me appreciate what the good Lord has blessed me with. No I'm not rich by the world's standard, but I'm very rich by God's standard, Jesus is my Lord and savior 🙏.

My father in law retired from the same job after 40 years. Got his first social security check, died before he could cash it, and social security made his widow return the check. That lesson stayed with me my whole life. Don’t trust the system to take care of you. His widow ultimately applied for and got his social security widows benefit but not without jumping thru hoops. No matter your gender, faith, skin color, or ethnicity we are all slaves to the systems in one way or another.

I live in Southeastern Kentucky, but I've lived in different parts of Western West Virginia and Southeastern Ohio so I'm speaking from experience. People here, and in a lot of the Appilation mountain and foothill region used to be some of the proudest, most hard working, humble people on the planet, but these days they've become some of the most lazy, self centered, this world ows me something people I've ever seen. People here are addicted to state and federal assistance. Welfare and food stamps and the real big one is disability. Almost every person here you meet, when you ask them what they do for a living, 65 to 70% are either on, or working on getting disability. The sad part is that 90% of them have nothing wrong mentally, or physically. They act like their monthly check comes from some magical disability tree or something, because when you point out to them that their check comes from hard working people's pockets, they get all wound up and don't want to talk anymore. These lazy good for nothing people are sitting back and drawing a monthly check, taking food right out of the mouth and clothes of the backs of honest, hard working people and they don't lose a moments sleep over it either. Every person that works reads thier check stub to see where all their money is going, and they all pay a social security tax and that is where these lowlifes are getting their monthly checks from. These people live on this stuff permanently and make no effort to better themselves, and then they train their kids to live the same, lazy, dishonest way. Their biggest excuse is the local economy and the collapse of the coal industry, although most of them never even worked in the coal industry, but they think it sounds good. They act like their isn't a whole nation of 49 other states with better econimies and more jobs, but that's because they are so lazy a shit fly wouldn't land in them. 90% if the young people move away from here after they graduate because they have some sense and want better for themselves and their kids.

@missyk1477 it's even more disgusting when you take into account how many ACTUALLY disabled people have to apply multiple times to be approved. I've known several of them. Personal anecdote time: My best friend's dad lost his arm at 13. He never even tried to go for disability - he didn't want it. He learned to write with his other hand, drive, get dressed and tie shoes with his other hand and a hook. He learned to fly planes. He was a driver for a wealthy family. He was a butcher. My ex, on the other hand, reveled in throwing himself pity parties. I witnessed him tell perfect strangers within minutes of meeting them that he had MD and couldn't do this or that. He was on disability and always whined it wasn't enough. He had all kinds of opportunities given to him on silver platters but he turned his nose up at them. He used a grant that should've paid for him to go back to school on crap he didn't need (including cigarettes, pot, booze, and gas to drive around to various friend's houses and parties) and dropped out. He had a job ripping tickets at a movie theater and was even given a chair to sit in. He quit shortly after being hired. Disgusting is an understatement.

When my Daddy died my mom changed a lot. We all did so much to help her at first. She told everyone she could not have made it without her friends. If she told anyone she couldn’t have made it without her daughters we never heard it. It was hard for us after that to continue to go there. Things would have never changed if she had said daughters instead of friends. Our lives changed after we heard that and not in a good way. Satan probably had a hand in it. We never resolved that.

Money was the drive pushed on me and I wasted 4 years of my life in college along with my friends and only one in our group of 7 found a job in what they went to school for. The rest is working hard to get something outta life and it was money driven. I look back at it and regret every part of it and what it did to me. I finally understand what my grandfather told me what you own owns you. The system traps you and I truly believe it’s devil driven.

How true it is Danny!! My mentally and physically disabled son is back in the hospital again. He was just released 4 weeks ago due to on going aspiration pneumonia's which stem from his Barrets Esophagus. The hospitals have become ATM machines for wealthy big pharma's etc. in this country. They could care less about his care, about keeping the families informed so that they might have information to make decisions based on what the Doctors have talked with them about. THEY DON'T TALK TO THE FAMILIES. They are hospitalists and if you are not there at 5 am when they make their round....it's just too bad. I am thoroughly disgusted with all of it. People are suffering!!! Especially the elderly and the disabled and it makes me sick to my stomach. Thank you for this video....honest and cold hard truths. We all need to open our eyes, I am right there now with the seniors. I have no patience with any of it anymore.

I used to live in the desert. When temps got to 117 degrees you have to wear gloves to drive your car and touch hot stuff. I used to freeze 2 1/2 full 20 oz. bottles with water overnight then fill one with water for the morning, then the other one with water in the afternoon. Carry a wash cloth with you and wet it with the cold water to cool down arms, top of your head, neck and to drink when you need it. You might want to consider freezing a block of ice for your cows water, cause they are not use to the heat either. If fact, no cows were in the desert that I recall. Maybe hose them down during the hottest part of the day. Also in high heat car batteries do not last long. If you have a charger, you can put them on it at night and remove it in the morning. This will save your batteries.

Good morning Mr. Danny and Mrs. Wanda. The words you speak are so true. No matter how many times you get knocked down to get back up and dust your boots off! I have had a fire take my home I have had a flood take my home three times living in different places. Each time I dusted myself off and kept going because the Holy Spirit kept telling me there's more out there keep going. I believe the Lord the holy spirit is telling my husband and I that we need to try to start making honey have bees on our property and also raise little chickens. I have raised and given away animals throughout my life that I loved with my heart and soul I didn't charge a penny and I always had people telling me why don't you sell those and make money? My answer was then and today because I'm not doing it for that I want to make sure the puppy goes to a good home. Now is the only time in my life that the Lord has told me it's time to me make some money off of Your Love of Animals. So we are going to try to get that going on our property along with getting a greenhouse and or high tunnel erected. You see I have had to be on disability do to six spinal surgeries . I worked and had enough credits and paid in where this is my money but the Lord is telling me that this money may not be there too much longer. Something that I have been worried about since obummer was in office to be exact with you. The Lord tells us to do your best and he'll do the rest Amen. I love your porch times Mr.Danny. The heat has been not terrible ( yet) in Douglasville GA. But I have heard the best is on the way here. Our sweet potatoes love the heat so far, pumpkins are ok not the best. ( First time with pumpkins) tomatoes have been fair any greens have shot sprouts and are trying to go to seeds😢. Blue berry bushes have blown me away this year 🎉🎉🎉 I am so impressed with them this year we went through gurneys and got 3 of their blue berry bushes they are doing well, excited to see how they do with our current blue berries. We have been collecting rain water to help during heat we only water in the late evening because if we do morning it does no good. Our hay guy said he is worried with the heat. On the hay fields and so I am going to get another 30 bales from him end of this month. I pray for God to take care of us and thank him even for a small sprinkle of rain. We set some more tomato seeds and I was worried and God sent a nice soaking rain to the new seeds that evening.

I enjoyed reading your comment here. I’m in middle Georgia and the extremely weird weather differences have really effected my garden. The only thing I have that’s strong is my blueberry bushes and my young lemon tree. I’m going to the farmers market to get some produce in bulk this weekend to support them and to can to supplement our supply. I also just found a cattle farmer who sells boxes of beef he will process and stocking the freezer.

Oh Danny, yalls humidity would kill me. In Sacramento, years ago, it was 50° in the morning and 110° or more in the afternoon. Somewhere between 9 and midnight, a beautiful ocean breeze (tgru the Carquuinez Strait) would cool off our town. AMAZING! Growing up in Indiana & Illinois, if it was 100° (and very humid), we were luck if it was 99° at night. Aweful. Prayers for all y'all, julie

The plandemic was to get rid of receiptants of the system. Unfortunately I got injured & I'm trying to make recovery happen. I regained my strength back but, no endurance. Last night walking the dog my leg started to hurt big time from when I broke it years ago. I'm not getting enough calcium for both the bones & muscle to function properly. I don't like being in the system but, it's giving me the opportunity to heal from driving a semi truck for 25 years. Most of the truckers I know or knew have/had circulation issues. Most have had heart attacks and/ or strokes. Unfortunately I've had 2 of the 3 problems mentioned above, along with back issues & 2 types of arthritis.

Exactly, the people who really need the help when hard times hit, they don't help, we were in the same predicament one time, they wouldn't help with food stamps because we owned two junkie cars.. they told us to sell one.. they only help the people that rip them off, not hard working Americans that fall on hard times... luckily we had family that helped feed us for a few weeks until we got back up on our feet.

Two years later, I hadn't made enough to pay the $45 service fee! Sooooo . . . I spent one day doing a "crash course" on Mutual Funds and MOVED all my investments from companies that I hand-picked myself. I made a few hundred $ that next year! The year after that I made better. And I don't know a thing about finances, no training - nothing. LOL When I cashed out probably 9 years later, I had $3000. :)

We waited until medicare age to draw just as a convenance they take your medicare payments out of SS. We owned three small companies two of which were run under the same office. My husband because very ill when he was 59 and we started having a difficult time managing the trade crew for one of the companies as he was a hands on manager. The company started making less money, although we were still profitable we could see it going down hill. We decided to sell the 2 companies that he was most involved with. Before we sold we expanded our ither company to replace our income. Now we could live comfortably on our income from our other company that requires only minimal participation from us. Taking care of ourselves has always been our goal.

I mulched garden and planting areas in straw which I am sure helps, we water every evening a small amount from our rain barrels we do not use the city water on any of our garden. My red potatoes are starting to yellow and lay down they really needed another 2 to 3 weeks of growing time, My white potatoes are running behind the others because they didn't have any spouting started before planting and they are starting to fall over.On the bright spot they produced lots of potatoes even if they are small. I also planted a 25 foot row of sprouting potatoes from the grocery store they have small potatoes with rough skin but lots of little ones better than throwing them away. We need rain, and I am hoping the above 100 temps tomorrow doesn't kill everything.

IMO, the reason many people like "heat index" (combination of air temperature and relative humidity) is because it sounds a lot more impressive than ACTUAL TEMPERATURE. The reason I prefer actual temperature is precisely because it IS accurately measurable. Here in Mesa County, CO, we have not been higher than 96°F yet, and then only for one day. 100°F temperatures usually happen in July and August. Our all-time high is 107°F. IMO, the ONE and ONLY way to correct our nation's economic/monetary ills is a Leviticus-25-type forgive-all-debts "Jubilee". Most people who have never cracked their Bible don't even know what that is (or would mean). So sorry your neighbors cut down the trees. I would NEVER have done that. You are 100% correct about the system being wicked, Danny. Anybody who reads the Bible with an open mind and heart can learn that FACT. America's money is PROVABLY unconstitutional. You like to read, Danny, so please compare the TRUTH of Hepburn v. Griswold, 75 U.S. (8 Wallace) 606 (Feb 7, 1870) to the revisionist-history LIES of Legal Tender Cases (Knox v. Lee, Parker v. Davis), 79 U.S. (12 Wallace) 457 (1870) and Juilliard v. Greenman, 110 U.S. 421 (1884). Especially Justice Stephen J. Fields' heroic lone dissent in Julliard is a MAJOR eye opener. I'm the only "lay" person I know who reads SCOTUS opinions for a hobby. Great sermon today, Danny! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. God bless and protect Deep South Homestead and all who dwell there! 🙏🙏

My great grandpa use to be one of those farmers that sold his melons to the local grocery stores in three towns. The store managers looked forward to seeing his produce come in because they knew the quality of his produce. I wish I could get my money out of Social Security and invest in something else.
