এত দিন সমুদ্র উপকূল থেকে কোরাল (ভেটকি) মাছের পোনা সংগ্রহ করে চিংড়িঘেরে চাষ করা হতো। কোরাল মাছ মাংসাশী হওয়ায় ঘেরের চিংড়িসহ অন্যান্য প্রজাতির মাছ খেয়ে ফেলত। এতে চাষিদের লাভের বদলে গুনতে হতো বড় ধরনের লোকসান। এখন হ্যাচারিতেই কৃত্রিম প্রজনন ঘটিয়ে বিভিন্ন সরকারি বেসরকারি মৎস্য-গবেষকেরা কোরাল মাছের পোনা উৎপাদন করতে সক্ষম হয়েছেন। বর্তমানে দেশের উপকূলীয় এলাকা গুলোতে ব্যাপকভাবে কোরাল মাছ চাষ করা হচ্ছে। দেশের পাশাপাশি বৈদেশিক বাজারে এই মাছের ব্যাপক চাহিদা থাকায় বিপুল বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা আয়েরও সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে এই খাদ থেকে...
