Glad your okay, my dad fell from a tree stand in 2001 no harness 15 feet on his head, broke his neck in two places, only thing that saved him was he was morbidly obese, only time having a large neck did anything good, when it swelled it kept his neck straight and was able to get himself to a hospital, ill never forget it, since then glad to say hes well and lost a ton of weight and me and him have began hunting again since last year, I've been blessed to hunt with my dad.

Tim, the exact same thing happened to me during a youth hunt with my daughter! I stepped onto the platform n went to hook up my harness, and both cables snapped! I fell 24' on to my back, dislocated my left shoulder, and ruptured 4 vertebraes in my back!! That was 2 years ago n I'm now hunting out of tree saddles!! Thank God for my 14 year old daughter helped me out of the woods about a mile in the dark!!! Be careful n people do not trust ur cables , replace them with stainless steel, like I have on all my hang on stands! It was terrifying falling backwards in the pitch dark on to my back!!

Mr. Tim Wells you and your family are definitely living your best life. Those were all great hunts regardless of wether they hit the ground or not. Glad to see others who let their deer hang for awhile. I know people who always complain about how tough buck meat is, but they kill it, clean it and freeze it within two days. I’m just an old West Virginia boy but I was always taught to let mine age for at least a week if it was cold enough. And that goes for my does too. Keep on keeping on man.

I'm so hooked on hunting videos. I must say that your videos have a style and class all it's own. Love your narrative style, and strong spiritual overtones. I've never been hunting. I from the city, but if I were to go, I would hope to run into you out in the woods. Your videos are so good, they could be shown on Saturday Morning TV. Very educationally, and your love and respect for the animals should ease the stigma of bad hunters who hunt just to pile up trophies. I wish you and your family well, as you present a fine example of what a loving family is the joy you guys have just being together. I wish I had grown up in this environment. Not to say the city was bad, to but it's a totally different life, and the lessons learned out in the bush can translate anywhere. Thank You for you continued excellence in story telling, education, and morale building that is hunting!

Miss a lot, I say that you are a lucky man to have such a great family that spends all the time with you in the woods. I still have recurve leaning against wall, doctors told me to stop over 20 year's ago you think that fall hurt your back I was run over by a Ford excursion. We should all thank God for what we have you never know when it will be gone, my recurve cannot take the stress of the draw and with my back it takes me 30min to re-string it. I will never give up hunting, but when you have to hunt public land you don't see to many giant deer like your place you take what God gives you.

Bow hunting and pistol hunting, ( 10mm or .357 Mag ) are my favorite ways to hunt. Bow set at full 75lbs is good on small eastern coastal deer out to 50 yards. Pistol is good out to 100+ yards. I still use my rifle if on a bean field, but THERE is just something about watching a deer hit the ground DRT at shot or no less then 20 yards. It's a skill that most people NEVER get the chance to do. Good video. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Congratulations Sydnie. I miss hurting. I remember trying to craw up a step hill side to get to a little 7 point it took me close to 30 minutes, but I took a guess at where he was heading and I was right. When I got the spot I thought would the best advantage point I waited. I laid on my back hoping he would come into the opening. Just before he got there something spoke him and I never got the shot but what an experience. To this day I have yet to get a deer in archery. Maybe one day.

Awesome video Tim...AND Ladies....I shoot an Oneida Black Eagle, and after being a master bow tech, and staff shooter for over 45 years, have learned a thing or two....I just machined a Bushing to allow me to use a drop away rest (Ripcord) sand it tightened the groups so much I had to use a 5 spot because I was ruining arrows. They said it couldn't be done.....I did it, and it is awesome, just thought you might be interested. Keep up the great videos. Mike Washington State
