20+ years of hunting ive lost 2 giant bucks and what haunts me more is the fact ive only got 2 small 7pts on the wall 😂

My biggest fails (a 185” 10 in Kansas, and a 185” 10 point in Nebraska, the Nebraska buck would have been an Archery State record, and a 200” Mule deer in Nebraska on the same day as the 185” whitetail) to me becoming a much better hunter, due to lessons learned.This lead to much more big bucks falling later, than otherwise would have. I have pictures or videos of all of these deer, it reminds me every day to stay humble and focus on the small stuff.

That guy Michael Lee in the red shirt at 18 min mark ! I have tried and tried to get that ol boy to wear his safety harness and he refuses to wear his hunter safety harness ! Last video I seen of them good ol boys , he was hunting a ground blind in ga and I commented and told him sir where is your safety harness at and he told me this off the wall story how he does not have to wear a safety harness in a ground blind blah blah blah ! Yes go ahead feller and tip over in that chair and tell me how it feels !! 😤

😮‍💨..... yeah.... bout all I kind bring myself to say to start... 3 MAIN ones come to mind. Unfortunately one I made a horrible shoulder shot on at 8 yards on the ground. 160+ 8 pt. 🤢 first time I ever used a decoy and he rolled in from 200 in 10 seconds and shook me to my core and I thought he was gonna go behind me but now I know he was just circling to come headon to decoy. 😢. Shot slightly quartering to. Dang mechanical. Never used them before never used after. Given to me by a sponsor friend and I used ONCE and different situation and blood trail was amazing. I FORGOT I was shooting a mechanical vs my single bevel fixed blades that likely could make that shot. Either way I should have waited 2 seconds I just panicked Several more but the biggest other was the one THIS year I was on a draw hunt with my 12 year old son. Have to shot a doe first.. you know what happened.. 20 min in.. a freaking giant comes out and stands there at 50 yards with a muzzleloader in his hand.. stayed there for 5 min never to be seen again. Easily . Easily 170

Had a buddy shoot a 175 inch nontypical in a Midwest town on a management hunt. An adjacent neighborhood landowner saw it fall and came over and tagged it and took it. We never found it but trialed it to drag marks to a common entry point to the woods. (He was smart) Wasn't until 5years later found out. He happened to be doing a landscaping job in the neighborhood and saw it through a guys back patio window on a dudes wall. He then inquired about the story and the guy LIED his butt off on how he was a great white hunter. Note. Everyone knew the deer. He got pics of it before he dropped the bomb. 💣 Dude turned white as a sheet. Came clean and then turned into an arsehole and wouldn't even let him measure it for a replica or take more pics . Much less sell it to him.
