Nice hunt, Mike! Like those vittles you were eating!! I like that setup you have. I guess here in about a week and a few days we will be up in the mountains of the Monongahela National Forest in Greenbrier County for a week. Good luck to you, I think this is your 2nd week of rifle season. I don't know much about the Virginia seasons. Our season opens the 25th, but I will be hunting here in Fayette County the first week. Jerod can't get off from work the first week, so our trip to the mountain won't happen until next Friday (day after Thanksgiving) and we will tree that week, which will be our second week, like it is our first week. Probably won't hunt Saturday or Sunday next weekend, Monday December 2nd we will treat like our opening day. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us. Juddie

I think any day when you can get outside and go into the high-country woodlands is a pretty good day. I can appreciate you not taking that year old spike buck in hopes of drawing in that big daddy. Having that hunting blind set up sure makes for a good spot to hold up until the deer begin to move. Be patient, the opportunity to meet that big buck face to face will come for you. Thanks for taking us along on this adventure. - Tennessee Smoky

Thank you for the shout-out brother! :) Much appreciated. I'm glad you're enjoying the Boker camp knife, I really like mine. :) What kind of hot sauce are you using? I need my arteries opened up too, I think. 😆

I'm 45 years old now and I found out as I've gotten older it's much easier to be out in the woods or on the duck boat longer when you have something warm to eat and drink to keep you going, even just that small little heat source is an amazing world of difference nowadays😊

What do you think is the better tactic, Mike.. Staying in one spot where there's sign of deer, (but not seeing any), or moving around to different spots? I've been hunting since Friday at my spot and I've only seen two does this past tuesday morning, they definitely smelled or heard me because they were blowing at me, but they never ran, they just walked off after about 5 minutes.. no buck ever followed.. but I had 3 or 4 nice bucks on camera in this spot. I'm just not seeing ANYTHING despite there being a lot of tracks, deer runs, deer poop and broken sticks/ferns/older tree rubs.. I'm wondering if I should stick it out, or pull out and find another spot. I'm on 50,000 acres of public land in Northern MI..
