Deer Hunting with the recurve bow, one gives me a shot

Use feather fletched arrows when shooting off of the shelf. You will have much better arrow flight. Vanes in general do not give and cause the arrow to kick. Feather fletching compresses fairly flat and passes the riser with little effect on the arrow.

Every traditional bow hunter misses....often more than we like to admit. It pays to wait if you can for the deer to give you a shot in a clear shooting lane. Looks like a great hunting spot so you may want to trim off any limbs to create a clean lane in two or three directions. But one thing is for sure. You shoot a lot better left handed than I would have! Better luck next time.

Great advice, thanks! I have been meaning to cut shooting lanes in that location and it's the main reason why I didn't hunt it this season yet. I'll get it done at some point. My other stand, the one I have been hunting has some nice shooting lanes and is definitely producing this year.

Dude I have hunted all my life and I think I’m pretty good at spotting deer, but for the life of me I can never see deer in your videos. Maybe it’s time to invest in a better camera that has a zoom on it? Unless you are just shooting at ghost deer. I want to see them, I back the video up, I make the screen as big as I can, but alas I have yet to see a deer in any of your videos so I guess I won’t watch any more.

Oh yeah, the arrows fly very nice with that set up. I have taken deer with that exact set up. That shot was a bit far.
