You're right, not everything is political.(the speed you launched into an ad hominem attack indicates you are also highly political). There is the problem using "Progressive" as a description beyond being a trigger word in that it implies knowledge of the correct way forward. It hasn't been long since a progressive rancher would be feeding cow offal to cows. It's hard to say if a user of GMOs who looks forward to nano tech is more progressive than one using cover crops and compost extracts? The term doesn't convey any information about what practices are followed.
