Thanks for another great video Kip. It was most interesting and informative and enjoyable. Wow. What a day you had. New technologies put in the tractors and combine and new baby calf and saved the life of an older cow and you have had a busy busy day. I watch several KZbin videos that have the Deere technology and they love it. Wouldn’t be without it now. You and your family will love having it. Little bit of a learning curve but you will get it quickly. Love love love you dad’s old cars and hot rod. The pink and black Mercury hardtop is a beautiful car. Wow. Very very nice!!!!!!!!!! Sharp car. Thanks for sharing everything Kip. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy Steve Thanks for saving that cows life with the vein injections.

Kip, you have a lot of cows with milk fever, do you not feed a pre calving supplement for three weeks prior to calving date would save you and the cows a few problems. Cheers 🇦🇺
@rileyvessey56377 ай бұрын
Great video on the tractor technology! Do you guys give calcium bolus’s to your cows after calving? We give them to all our 3rd + lactation cows. Since moving to that we very rarely deal with milk fever, it’s money well spent.

How and how do you setup the individual fields?
@aaronbeisch47077 ай бұрын
On the older John Deere displays like the 2600 and 2630 models, depending how the pages are setup to personal preference for screen layout. On one screen layout, on the right hand side of the screen there's 3 drop boxes, one for "farm name", one for "client name" and the last is for "field name". The field name can be tricky if there's multiple operators/drivers like if Kip calls a field one name and his brother Mark calls it a different name. It's basically where everyone has to be on the same page (expression) being the John deere displays, you can have a few different pages, kinda like different tabs open on your laptop computer. Then for running straight lines, there's a few different options. There's A + B which is like if you want to be straight with the fence or road. A + auto B is where you start in one spot and know which fence post/rea pole you want to head to, then there's A + heading if you want to go square with the world or know what degree angle you want to do, like if the soybeans cut better at an angle than going straight. Some varieties cut alright going the same way they were planted and other varieties you'll have a nicer cut at like 20 degrees off or square. I know I'm missing one or two for going straight up and down the field. Yes, the display on the planting tractor will probably be setup differently for the pages than the tillage tractor. What I mean is if the planter is synced to the display, one of the pages will give you the population reading on the rows, while the tillage or haying doesn't need that page. I think it's on the mapping page where you can mark/flag the rocks, tree stumps, old well pipes, or drain tile risers while planting or tillage and if that display is in the combine you can be prepared if the wind is out of the wrong direction while combining or if you remember to come back and deal with that item. Like if it's a rock, you'll have to take a tractor with the display, find those problem rocks while someone else comes with a loader or backhoe to take care of it. I think you can flag 99+ spots.
