Robert I had a stroke 2 yrs ago trying to rope a bull with my buddy Troy,I got off my horse and couldn't talk just all garbled.My buddy got me to the fire house on Shinn rd then the the hospital.I get tired really easily and I have the words in my head but have trouble getting them out.My femoral artery's are blocked so I can't walk real far like I'm used to hunting and fishing.I miss going out to the woods and just scout sign.Im 67 this month and grateful every day I wake up and watch the sun rise.God bless you, and your family.

Gar is surprisingly good when prepared right. Cut it up into nugget sized pieces, soak it in buttermilk, season it well, batter it up with eggs/milk and cornmeal or flour.

I suffered a near catastrophic work accident back in 2018 and that's how I came across your channel during my long and painful recovery process. It's words like that, that have finally after many years of struggling with it have made me realize how lucky I am and getting help both mentally and physically to accept my new normal. Rob brother your doing good. Been there myself. A stroke is a major setback and to get back from it as well as you have takes determination and a lot of work from within and a lot of faith in God to pull you through it. Like I said been there a few different times myself over the years. Watching your videos have gotten me through a few different hospital stays over the years. Yeah I'm one of your old timers with how long I've been a subscriber. Even remember talking to you about getting a trip to Norway a few years ago. If you ever think about doing it get a hold of me. It’s been amazing to see you come back from your stroke ! I know it changes you and you still have struggles daily but man my dad was so impressed with how you worked your way through it! Gratz on the outstanding recovery a year after. I've never heard of eating gar as a filet. Everybody I've ever known who's had gar, it was cooked in a hushpuppy or fritter. They called it gar balls.

It's so crazy that we were going through trials and tribulations at almost the same time. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer on May 5th 2023 with a 9 centimeter mass on my left kidney. I've been watching your channel since you and Sarah were in the old apartment. I'm just so glad that the good Lord saved us both and you are still able to do what you do and I'm still here to be able to watch your journey. I'm now cancer free and you are back at it. TGBTG!!!

A guy told me that he and his family love Gar, and that he has a fine-tooted hand saw that he uses to cut the Gar into 1-inch thick pieces and then he pushes the meat out, and he says he seasons and batters the meat and deep fries it.
