Order your copy here: EagleRock.lnk.to/DefLeppardLDNVGID
Filmed in December 2018, Hysteria At The O2 captures Def Leppard celebrating the ground-breaking Hysteria, one of their two diamond-certified 10x platinum albums (the other being Pyromania). Performed in its entirety before a ravenous sold-out crowd, this momentous homecoming event is made all the more powerful as it was their long-awaited debut at the iconic O2 Arena in London. Featuring electrifying performances of “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Animal,” “Women,” and “Love Bites,” band members Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick “Sav” Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar), and Rick Allen (drums), conclude the set with a host of extra hits including “Let’s Get Rocked,” “When Love and Hate Collide,” and “Photograph.”
Six months later, just after their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Def Leppard undertook a residency in Las Vegas at Zappos Theatre in Planet Hollywood. Hits Vegas, Live At Planet Hollywood is a 28-song deep dive into not only their greatest hits, but rarities such as “Too Late For Love,” “Billy’s Got A Gun,” and “Slang,” and “Promises.” Highlighting Def Leppard’s versatility, Hits Vegas presents a livewire stage show with two stages and video walls, punctuated with intimate, acoustic renditions of rarely performed songs “Let Me Be The One,” “We Belong,” “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad,” and “Two Steps Behind.”
Hits Vegas offers a behind-the-scenes bonus feature, while Hysteria At The O2 is rounded out with the bonus “Hysteria: Then And Now” mini-documentary. As a whole, Def Leppard: London To Vegas encapsulates the prestige of one of rock’s most iconic bands

Yes, in several videos Phil did years ago, and if you read his autobiography "Adrenalize", Phil was asked a set of 20 questions from a fanatical Leppard fan [Valerie Rousou]. In one of the questions Phil was asked "what direction do you think Steve might have gone in". Phil "That's a interesting one.....Steve had quirky tastes....he could hear something that was way out there and turn around and make it commercial. I think he might have gotten into the film industry, movies [tracks], he was always into that". We will sadly never know, but Steve left this band, despite at times both Sav and Joe trying to downplay his input, yes Elliot at the RRHOF 'did' say "Steve's contribution was massive"....but both are somewhat touchy, the facts are this band relied on Steve's gifted abilities to pen lyrics and to create some of the most iconic, timeless melodies, harmonies, hooks, bends and of course riffing. He really did 'have it all', on stage strapped low Steve just owned the stage, zipping around, whirling a 18 string Razor like it was a cricket bat. From ALL I have read and seen his Father shoulders most of the blame, the great Ross Halfin who took THE most pictures of Steve, spotting him extremely early in the late 70's, Steve let Ross 'in', and Halfin has documented Steve's career and life on stage and off stage like NO other. Ross non negotiably blames Steve's Father, and Ross you'd reckon would know, the reality is and it comes through in the DefLeppard telemovie, Steve always wanted his Father's approval and respect and he was forever trying to get it but his Father was, is a genuinely hard man. His Mother and brother are left to mourn a unique, a extremely gifted but extremely shy man who had bi polar, and back then medicine was not what it is today. Sadly Steve just gave up. In his book Collen says he thinks about Steve EVERY day, the story of how Phil 'processed' his best mates death is rarely noted. Collen refused to attend Steve's funeral for in his words "all of a sudden al these people were coming up and claiming they knew Steve, were tight with him, I wanted nothing to do with it". Several years later Phil was stuck in LA's traffic, and a song from the 'Stones' came on the radio, you can guess which song....and it was 'then' that he broke down, and it was then that he finally came to realise his best mate, his brother really was gone. I recommend his book, it gives a wonderful insight into Steve. Yes his loss remains incalculable, Leppard's lack of mainstream chart success is evidence enough. But, what a legacy he left. Steve remains like the crown jewels....simply put he's priceless.

@@markmessore9569 mate you are SO wrong. When this band lost their lyrical and musical, and live genius Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark Collen was ready to give music away, he was that shattered. Elliot talked him down. Viv will NEVER be Steve - Steve constructed some of the most insanely difficult guitar notes/parts nobody will ever be able to replicate Steve's loose hands, his classical training, Steve read, understood music, he was a thinker as 'Mutt' said. When Leppard decided to continue with a new guitarist he was always going to be the player to fill the slot, the incalculable hole Steve left. DIO fucked over Viv and the band - don't know if was cos of his wife's influence but Viv/those band members we're ripped off. Viv is a monster of a player - sadly the set list changes see him playing less, and example being the intro and ride out soloing for 'Photograph' - Collen's been doing it for years when Viv should be. He's been in the band a long time - private jets, stadiums thanks to the catalogue Steve left this band. He's a mega millionaire worth around imo $25 million like Collen. Elliot, Savage and Rick are worth at least triple that - but Viv is happy, he has his side band 'Last In Line' where he can go and be let loose fully.

Viv is a under rated guitarist period. His work with DIO was truly epic as a young tearaway player, he plays Phil off a short break imo. He's been with Leppard now 20+ years, so sadly longer than the real musical, and lyrical genius of this band who was a true rock star live, strapped low "The Riffmaster" oozed cool. Vivian's solo here is no where near as good as "Steamins", he cannot hit the exact same chords as 'Billy' was, should be played. That's in NO way being even slightly critical of Viv, he is a gentleman and extreme humble and even he's admitted many times "I still cannot play GOW", And 90% of what we play Steve left us". But Vivian puts his 'own' style into the guitar parts while staying, as best he can, to stay true to what the genius in the late Steven Maynard Clark created. Leppard are as fact one of the very few hard rock bands that play live with ZERO backing vocals, what you see is 100% rock n roll. Given Viv's health problems it's just a delight to see him enjoying himself, and living the dream decades on.

@@brandonkaylasmommy Their first album was On Though the Night in 1980, their second was High ‘N’ Dry in 1981, their third was Pyromania in 1983 and their fourth was Hysteria in 1987. Billy’s Got a Gun is from the Pyromania album. In 1984, their drummer Rick Allen lost his left arm in a horrible car accident. He was intoxicated and lost control of his corvette. The name “Def Leppard” was given to the band by Joe Elliott. He came up with the name during an art class in 1975 (he was 16) when he was writing down a list of made up band names. It was spelled correctly when he wrote it down. The original name for the band before Joe joined was Atomic Mass. Joe joined the band through Pete Willis whom he met at a bus stop. Pete Willis was their original guitarist before Phil Collen replaced him during the recording of Pyromania. I’m in my 20’s (won’t give you my exact age) but I know quite a lot about this band and I am a huge fan!!

Do you see what Joe does with his mic at the very end? He prevents it from feeding back through Phil's guitar pickups by putting it behind his back. That's how the "Bang Bang" was done in the studio but if you leave the mic wafting around, you'd hear nothing but screams of the mic feeding back....just a performance touch for the young'uns to take note of.

Super siked to hear this played live. These guys haven't slipped a bit. Last time I saw them was with Poison, and Tesla. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen. From Photograph to wanna get rocked. Still in my top 5 of favorite bands ever. Can't wait till the next show. Rock on guys.

Kick ass. Great to hear some songs they haven't done in a while. The crowds here in eastern Canada last summer, Moncton and Halifax, were certainly more enthusiastic than this it seems, just saying...lame people make me mad lol. Been a fan since I first heard High n Dry in the 80s, still a fan now at 47. Awesome eh, yep.
