83'....the year i met, dated, asked for and got the hand of the woman who would be the mother of my 2 boys. 40 years ago and this music still makes me feel the tingle all over of something special happening then and now. We celebrate our 37th anniversary in July and sweet baby Jesus, this band has given us so many memories. They still rock, but what a special time they had as breakout artists. We grew up together and they have no clue who I am. I know they must think of how their music affected so many through the years. Hopefully this tidbit of acknowledgement finds them and let's them know how crucial music like theirs was to young kids like us in those times. At 60 its nice to remember those times , with great fondness because of bands like this.

@kevinbuja8105 Жыл бұрын
Hey, I’m 63, so I was a kid in the 60’s, teenager in the 70’s, young adult (20’s) in the 80’s, and my 30’s in the 90’s. To be perfectly honest with you, those are probably the best decades for music, movies, pop culture, freedom….you could do what you wanted and just nobody gave it shit. I highly recommend listening to music from those eras. You’ll see and hear the progress of the music. For example 60’s gave us The Beetles, The Knks, Rolling Stones, and Cream, the first British Invasion (the 2nd happened in the 80’s) and surf music. 70’s brought Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Bread Boston, and Foreigner. The 80’s brought old school hip hop (Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow - check out his 8 million Stories), many of the groups you know. There was all types of music on the charts; Ska, Reggae, synth-pop, acoustical, rock, power ballads. Should check out ABC (Look of Love LP), Haircut 100, Madonna, Madness before “Our House”….”One Step Beyond”, “Welcome to The House of Fun”. Steve Winwood, Robert Palmer, and Robert Plant’s solo material after Led Zeppelin broke up. Also, check out Jennifer Rush. She wasn’t that big here but in the EU she was huge. She’s the co-writer and original singer of “The Power of Love”. Celine Dion did it in 1992. The 90’s, mostly dance music, but fun. C+C Music Factory, Haddaway, Madonna’s “Vogue”. They were all great eras. If I bored you or put you to sleep, I’m sorry. I just think the 60’s-90’s were filled with great music.

Oh God, my teenage years (I'm 52 now) were some of the most amazing years of my life! We weren't able to just call anyone, anytime from your cell phone. No texting or internet. (I know many of you that are young don't know what's that like) We had our own special way of communication. Payphones, passing notes in school, meeting each other at the mall, or the arcade.But most of all we had this music! This amazing music along with so many other bands (Motley Crue, Ratt, Twisted Sister, AC/DC, Van Halen, Quiet Riot. We'd watch /listen to MTV ALL the time. I'm so glad this was my teenage years!
