It is yet ANOTHER legacy of the real genius and songwriting, and chord construction of truly iconic riffs, hooks and bends from the late genius Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark....

I don’t understand why quite a few people say that “Vivian isn’t as good as Steve“. Yes it’s true that they’re not the same person, but from what I’ve seen over the years, Vivian is just as much a member of Def Leppard and worthy of it as most anybody has been. He definitely has kept up the bands excellence even after Steve Clark passed away. Little wonder they’re getting inducted into the Hall of Fame in a few weeks!

If any doubts about Vivian Campbell just listen to some old Dio albums ...he's phenomenal

Viv is the best guitarist in Def Leppard and he sings extremely well. Phil, Steve and Pete wrote some iconic material, but Viv is an absolute beast of a guitar player- He can shred with the best of them and he can play heavy and slow.

@@lisawalter1819 Wut? Go through all the Love Bites Live Solos Viv has pulled off over the last 20 years. Absolutely magic. Musicians get better with age, so we’ll never know how good Steve would have grown to be. Expecting Viv to play Steves parts exactly the same way is just foolish. Plenty of nights Steve was sloppy- He wasn’t as technically proficient as many guitarists, but he had an incredible knack for writing incredibly tasty guitar licks.

I loved this long before the misfortunes of the band. For me at this moment in time, I enjoyed the song as a moment to see that you can adapt and overcome. If you have a love and a passion, it is possible. It was my own moment here and now and I shared it. It might be different 3 seconds from this moment. I doubt it :)

Love the current lineup. But I always thought it would’ve been really interesting had Billy Duffy (The Cult) replaced Steve Clark. I think they are closer in style as far as bluesy, soulful riffs. No disrespect to Vivian, but I think he is similar to Phil as a technical/shredding style player. Additionally I think Billy would have brought a little bit more of an edge to the band

Yeah, Viv is much more like Phil in playing style than Steve; Phil gave it the flash but Steve gave it the soul. Viv's a fantastic player but he's a different type of player than Steve was. It's kind of like Dave Rude taking over for Tommy Skeoch in Tesla. Dave is fantastic but he sounds more like Frank than Tommy; he plays Tommy's parts well but the new music is lacking Tommy's touch just like DLs without Steve.

Was pretty cool until the drum solo. Drum solos are lame in general.
@jasonnesburg95643 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you know, the drummer shouldn’t even be allowed on stage. I mean, a drummer is barely even a member of the band. Really. He just hits things to the beat of what everybody else is already doing. Heck, just program that onto a backing track and then you don’t even need a drummer. 🤨😠
