I don't know if I've ever commented on one of your videos, but I've been subscribed to you for years. Def Leppard is my first favorite band ever and I have many good memories of being a kid and idolizing them, and especially Steve Clark whose death broke my heart and spirit the day I heard about it on MTV. No one on KZbin does their guitar work as accurately as you. NO ONE. And your loyalty to their guitar tones earned my respect as well. I've also loved many of your videos from other artists as well. Holy crap - this is awesome! High'n'Dry was and remains one of my top 10 favorite albums since its release almost 40 years ago. Still remember the massive posters of the album cover in the windows of Tower Records when it was released. You really nailed every one of these solos - including the tone and vibrato. You rock, my friend.

In fact, it is so good that it simply underscores how brilliant he was as a creative artist as well as playing musician. Been really getting into playing electric the past few months. The first song I was able to play solos and all was Let It Go and I hope to work through some more from this album as it's certainly my favorite. Definitely will come back to this video if I ever get stuck trying to figure out any sections.

That was magical man. I missed you doing Steve's ascending lick on Hit N Run. I know cause he tuned the string different it's hard to do with a locking system but you're so good you still would have made it sound cool. Also Steve's ride out to Mirror Mirror. You played that amazing in your other vid. Awesome job man! P.s. I'm still gonna bug you about doing Wasted live 83. That's Steve's most technical solo. 😆

There's a few nods to Steve's playing in that song, which I guess you would expect with it being a tribute to him, although that specific example is a Pete Willis solo.

Another outstanding video Ben, solos are epic Steve would definitely and his own comments if he was still with us, I’ve added compression to my guitar tone as you advised and it sounds awesome what’s your chorus settings you use?

Thanks Michael! So, set the fx level all the way and put in on a clean tone. Put the rate slow, maybe a quarter and turn the depth up all the way to where it just starts to sound completely out of tune, and then back it off slightly. For cleans, I leave the fx level up high but I’ll turn it down on distortion. If you turn the rate up, turn down the depth as you go so you can keep that same level of almost out of tune sound.

I've always thought that it's Steve on Let It Go, 1st half of Another Hit and Run, Heartbreak, Switch, Lady Strange, Mirror Mirror and Me & My Wine. Pete on 2nd Half of Another Hit and Run, High n Dry, You Got Me Runnin, On Through The Night and No No No. I don't know for definite on these things but that's what I've felt after learning all these tracks with them both and getting an idea for the certain licks Steve and Pete would use but I do think they sound more similar on this album than on previous so I could be wrong.

raymond reddington yeah I’ve heard some people think that. I’ve never read or heard anything official that confirms it for me, either way. Definitely could be Steve but it predominantly features licks I hear in Pete solos and not really other Steve ones.

Viv plays it live during the 2013 residency. So I would venture to say it was Steve who originally did it.
