Defeat Duchenne Canada: 2023 Research Grant Update - Dr. Natasha Chang

Thanks to our donors and supporters, Defeat Duchenne Canada has been the leading funder of Duchenne muscular dystrophy research in Canada for more than 29 years, granting $17.73 million to date.
Hear an update from Dr. Natasha Chang a researcher Defeat Duchenne Canada has previously funded with great interest from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, for her project titled: ‘Inducing stress granule formation in muscle stem cells to treat DMD.’
While not targeting the root cause of Duchenne, Dr. Chang is investigating compounds that could potentially improve muscle strength and slow down the progression of the disease regardless of the type of mutation.
