@@abumc5104 As a native Chicagoan, been spinning house since the mid 80's.. i'd have to say most of it was not what i'd considered to be. A lot of house that's out today isn't and don't know exactly what it is. And It frustrates me greatly as a Dj that it's very hard to find real good house music. Just like jazz. If you were a Jazz enthusiast from that era and town where it was created, you would be a good judge to consult with - someone to ask - someone whom could say whether or not what is or what isn't jazz - to be able to point out a good house track - the true elements of what it is and what it should sound like. For instance.. there is no such thing as Afro house.. just as there is no such thing as Afro Jazz. You can call it afro house.. but that's isn't house. Just my humble take on it.. and excuse me if i'm coming across arrogant.. but also, A lot of these different genres? "Most" of it isn't house and is actually very bad so-called house music. Peace!

@@spadesmaster2153 sorry, i'm not in that position to say, that's HOUSE or that's not. but you're right that most of that's produced in the last 20 years isn't that HOUSE that i used to know from the 80s/90s. and for me, there's only good music or crappy sounds called music, edm, trap, tech-house.... whatsoever. for me, it has always been club music, no matter what it's called, as long it has the funk, the soul, breaks & beatz, some melody or great vocals in it. and as long as it is not that much mainstream/commercial. strictly vinyl & strictly rhythm for me personally. and my experience, there are still a lot of the great us/uk dj's, and a few european, asian and african dj's, makin' great HOUSE/club music. i know it, 'cause i bought some of them in the last few weeks. and them 12"vinyl are still that expensive like in the 80s/90s. quality always had his price, but quality never goes out of style.

Its all house! Speed up some specific dance tracks and over lap it with some "Real" house beats and you get house. Call it what you will after? Defected has been mixing house since 99. With many newbies and OGs. Its different when your jamming from your laptop at work or from home
