I would suspect that they simply gave you a brand new watch. It gets to the point where it’s not worth the time investment to repair it. Swapping it out is the best way to go. Enjoy it!

It's a Tropic style strap from Juelong, a seller on Aliexpress. They are the OEM for a lot of other strap companies, and I really dig their FKM rubber straps.

Nice to see it's no longer the Vamp arnie but God damn that isnt acceptable from seiko 😅 fair play to you though, the initial experience would've killed anything I had for the watch

I agree! It was really a poor experience, and has killed any desire for more Seikos in the future. I still like this watch, even though the ordeal to get it working was a pain. Thanks for commenting!

@@bproffs3580 Well, it was only when fully charged, but it charged so quickly that it didn’t really didn’t matter if it had been lower battery.

just bort one here in uk... had to send it back the screw down pushers i could not unscrew them , screwed down to tight was send back a new watch now the alarm dont work so now sending back for a refund... i dont want it cheers

This sunlight issue seems to affect watches sold in the US only.

I think it was a North America issue. I had a Canadian fella who messaged me that his had the same issue. Fingers crossed that it didn't impact the European and Asian markets, as this is a cool watch, when it works.

Sadly not - I have a UK watch which suffered the same issue, I’m also aware of cases reported by other UK owners.

i have the same problem ,, and got it in Denmark .. had to send it in for service 2 times ,, but they dont now how to fix it .. ready to send it in for the 3 time

IMO Seiko throws these watches together in china and this is now typical. I like your UDT though.

@@camarocarl7130 Yeah, it’s a shame that they’re cheeping out on these, and just generally have meh QC as a whole. For the UDT, it’s cool and fairly well made, but the really poor lume and lack of a backlight have made it depart from my collection as of now.
