Don’t be. It is human nature. Just because your suffering can’t compare to hers doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter... I doubt she'd believe such. We really can’t appreciate anything as much as we will when it is gone. And when we compare our lives we see horrid suffering like this as well as people living in absolute luxury. Of course we are closer to the quality of life a Billionaire lives opposed to what she endured but everyone's life is a series of tragedies. While it is always good to keep it all in perspective, feeling shame because our pain can’t possible match theirs doesn’t help her, probably doesn’t help yourself beyond acknowledging it.

There’s way more to her story than that though. Way more! What a gorgeous, badass woman. I’m so goddamn grateful that I am fortunate enough to be born and raised in the United States. True. Though a lot of governments are slowly chipping away at these freedoms and leading us in that direction, even in developed western countries. Take the US for example which has for-profit prisons locking people up for minor offences making them work for cheap, or Australia which uses its police force to intimidate, assault and arrest journalists that criticise or report about corrupt politicians. It's almost like humans aren't capable of being trusted with power, and no civilised country is able to maintain its freedoms forever.

I really recommend everyone to just listen to the first 10 mins of this thing and I promise you'll continue. Apart from her story, they cover almost every relevant topic - The problems of north Korea is obvious, but also the problems of America and her own perspective. For her this country is the heaven she desired and how it is now showing similar signs as that of her previous country. I had tears by the end and I think even Joe had difficulty maintaining his composure in the last scene. Really loved it and definitely this has changed my life.

Thank you for commenting. Joe & Yeonmi have positively awesome communication chemistry. Listening to her story uncountable times always enlivens me to do what I can do, so when you say it changed your life, why not share what steps you will take in that new life? Seriously.... The Y Parks story is going to rival Rosa Parks in the history of America. Yet getting to understand deeply the reality of this horrific scenario is only the jumping off part. As Joe says only she can tell her story, but we can all process it internally as something very very urgent to be concerned about as humans. YP. " Only hope is with INDIVIDUALS". So my part now is to do the most I can to spread not only awareness but solutions. YP. may not embrace my efforts, but I don't care, because I am an individual. My heart says to discuss and question others as to what they as individuals are doing. Thank you very much.

And he wants to end dictatorship. He is the "purest" from a dinasty standpoint. That's because Kim jong-un is half japanese while his father, Kim Jong-nam, wasn't (they were half-brothers). As Kim family members are referred as "God Entities"... the fact that Kim Jong-un is "less pure" makes a big difference for the people there. @@jacksevert3099 There is a difference between having a vague idea about NK being a fascist regime and actually knowing the brutal details of just one person’s story. Putting faces on the horrors is how people begin to care. “Starvation and execution is rampant in North Korea.” and “I saw a teenage boy with his organs hanging out of his back begging for food, next to a river full of bodies with their eyes eaten hollow by rats.” don’t have equal impact. True. Incredible, yes, but she had lots of luck. That she made it out of NK at all is lucky. That she made it out of the sex trafficking China is lucky. That she everyday made to the US to tell her story and achieve celebrity status is incredibly lucky. Had it not been for her mother and father's love and sacrifice she wouldn't be here at all.

*She is the biggest fake around!! Why hasn’t she got an Oscar for Best Actress yet?* There are a few extremely professional & extremely convincing acts compared to Ms Park's efforts. Many people are suspicious and think she might be just a pawn, and it happens a lot in America once you gather a huge number of followers on Twitter or KZbin or whatever… I read her story and seen videos of her talking about her escape from north korea. One day she might be able to keep her stories straight. She has a habit of changing key parts every time she yaps in from of people. Most people tend to remember things like their parents deaths etc… in her stories they always change. At the bottom of the issue is a conflict of interest--she, and other NK defectors, have a financial stake in fabricating or exaggerating their experiences because the conservative market of speakers will pay more for sensational stories. Unless they find a way to crosscheck and verify their own claims, I'm always taking their words with plenty grains of salt. Everyone knows the old saying "You shouldn't Judge a book by it;s cover etc......." True as it may , BUT, Just couldn't help noticing how fake her overall persona/presentation is ......... Her rather expressive tones & tears, ... or she dressed up nicely and dolly/innocent look in that traditonal Korean outfit was rather .... fake / trying tooooo hard perhaps etc..... Yeonmi Park is just spreading propaganda at this point. She's doing it for the views, likes and ad-revenue only. Nowadays on her channel, you see videos that there is a random uprising in North Korea, random coup here, people are angry, etc. But when you search for the sources either there are no sources & evidence regarding her claims or she only has access to same "news sources"/rumours like we do (She's not living in NK anymore). She's repeating content, making false claims too. She's milking it as long as people keep giving her money. Next year she's going to add how they met Kim Jung Un and he helped them escape. A lot of what the West says about North Korea is pure rubbish. US media could claim something completely outrageous like North Koreans execute babies by feeding them to sharks with the only reference being an “anonymous source”, yet people will believe it all uncritically. And Totally much more plausible that the trillion dollars pumped in propaganda in the west are connected to that chick's shady bullshit stories. *Imagine you actually realizing what you've been told has all been fantastic tales!!*

*"How can anyone think this clown is telling the truth."* Yeonmi is a paid, celebrity "witness." The Diplomat did a write up of her about how her stories do not line up, and they have the receipts. It’s is fabricated, unfortunately. I know that perspective is difficult and unfair, it seems, but that’s the point of such a story perfectly tuned over time to appeal to your emotions. If you need more proof look at the Greyzone video with Max Blumenthal, and another further report he did previously. There is a literal TV program in South Korea where North Korean defectors compete with their lavishly embellished escape stories to win.. it’s a game show. Yeonmi Park has personally made almost $1,000,000 telling her story. Her story changes massively. One of the most crucial changes in her story from the initial tv interview is that her father was initially with her when she left N.K.. later she said it was only her mom that was with her, in order to weave in the part where her mom is raped to save her from that assault- a much more heart-wrenching progression. Says she was poor but slips up by saying she grew up with her mum having chanel handbags🥴....how can anyone think this clown is telling the truth. Anything she says is suspect, as she could easily be grifting Rightwing media. The story is she stole other defectors stories. She was a high ranking person in DPRK (according to one version they claimed) and did escape (probably through bribes). She steals other people’s stories to make her story sound more sensational. you will always see someone trying to be over dramatic and get attention and fame by making the story 100 times worst. Did she go through horrible things? We don't know. Did she use other peoples stories and exploit them as her own? Yes, 100 percent. She's definitely from North Korea and she definitely "escaped" but I'm pretty sure she's laying the story on thick because her whole career depends on it. It's her livelihood. She's Korean Elizabeth Holmes. She arrived here in South Korea and used the refugee system in every way, got free education, numerous plastic surgeries including breast implants, appeared on TV to find a rich man, failed, then rehearsed years for the show targeting foreign countries. They never escaped to Mongolia. Her mother never raped, and they were never kidnapped/captured as sex-slaves! And her father never was or died in China! The whole story/ her book is pure fabrication. I can document it! But I am not aware of their real life/ story! I just know that they are lying! She lied about her father's death, and got exposed by North Korean government, so she had to admit it (in silence! few people were paying attention to it). Here you go : "But North Korean government came after me and described me that I didn't suffering in North Korea and also they said that my father died in North Korea not in China, and they say that I was an very ambitious girl because he gripping ambitious extremely bad thing and they say you are an ambitious girl, and your father was a bad person, and your mom was immoral person..............But they didn't really come up with a like big thing *except my father died in North Korea* and my father's ashes were in China, and my mother went to China a few months ago and brought my father's ashes to South Korea." *A MOUTHPIECE FOR THE MASTERS* Ladies and gentlemen, perfectly encapsulates the dangers of thinking with one’s emotions rather than with logic and reason…. It's utterly amazing to read the comments, and see just how far people are willing to go, just how many inconsistencies they are willing to overlook to continue to stay emotionally attached to the story. It's surreal to witness. No matter how many times she slips up, or how HUGE the discrepancies are, 80% of the people tell themselves something, anything, just to keep the charade in their minds going, as to not face the facts of the time they have wasted in vain believing her. It’s amazing she’s not even in NK and she could still tell us for a fact what colour underwear Kim is wearing today and what movie he watched the night before. So, how does this fake news girl get her information, when no one is able to get true accurate information out of North Korea. Most of her videos now, of Kim Jong un being probably dead, being gay, sister being ruthless is merely based on assumptions. She is solely monetising her content based on people's curiosity of that hermit kingdom. I doubt whether she is giving us her own opinions, she is a mouthpiece for others who have their own agenda. She is slandering the DPRK and used as a tool by U.S imperialists to wage war against them. She is a blatant liar. Who sells false news and make money for plastic surgery by spreading propaganda against her own country. It's so easy to manipulate people with fear and emotional rhetoric. N.K is a western Psyop. All these stories ~ Fake. Footage of camps ~ Fake. Vice going to NK ~ Fake. Escapees being interviewed and writing books for suckers to buy ~ Fake That kid a few years ago stealing a poster ~ Fake.. Watch his testimony where he's begging for his life ~ 100% Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake 😂 She,s full of shit, she doesnt know jackshit so she makes it up coz she knows there,s plenty of braindeads that she can suck in big time and they will praise her for her bravery, honesty and whatever. In short, this girl is a total con. Disgusting channel.

She completely retracted after crazy story of Mongolian border patrols undressing her everyday naked. 6. Her father is sentenced to a year she said. Then her father is sentenced to 18 years. Then she said its 10 years. 7. Mom's best friend is executed at the Hyesan stadium but then other defectors disagree with her. Such punishments are reserved for murder, mass-scale theft, rape. 8. Everyone knows the old saying "You shouldn't Judge a book by it;s cover etc....." True as it may , BUT, Just couldn't help noticing how fake her overall persona/presentation is .........
