Good to see us still supporting that part of the world after all the help they gave our soldiers during WW2.

Served in 2PIR in the early 80's . The Bn was second to none. The unit was spike and span. There were few ADF personnel still serving the unit then. The Training officer, catering WO, and GE North Staff, AMO ,Dental officer were ADF. The 8 Field Surveying Team were there too. There was the 9 hole beautiful golf course by the beach. Also have fond memories of Pukpuk bridge . The Obstacle course was called "Jefferies Course" named after Maj - General Jefferies former Governor General of Australia who was the last ADF Commanding Officer of 2PIR in 1972 .... Use to enjoy jumping off the last obstacle into the sea. Good to see the joint exercise and rehabilitating the facilities and the lifeline to town the famous "PUKPUK Bridge" .This is where the Exercise got its original name from for those who didn't know the background to it. CO, officers and men of 2RPIR bring the pride of the unit to where it once stood. Proud to have once been part of the elite Corp of 2PIR Officers and member of 2PIR. "ANTAP LONG OL". .. MAD

Once an Australian colony, then saviours on the Kokoda track in WW2, and now a growing economy thanks to Aussie support. Go Papua New Guinea!

Aussie support to keep the PNG government in check from selling out to China.

PNG has never been an Australian colony mate, it was an Australian protectorate and yes there is a very big difference between the two.

I'm a big supporter of the Australian DF. The PNG DF needs to work more closely with them.😊

My view is that Australia soldiers should get government support to buy a house
