mishra ashish - That is not true in this case the two types of rifles are for two different purposes. The Sig Sauer is for special forces while the AK 203 is the default assault rifle for the army. It would be too expensive to equip the army with Sig Sauer. Not even the US army is equipped like that.

The main factor is that SIG-716 is a battle rifle with heavy recoil. AK-203, being an assault rifle, fires a smaller round, and therefore is easier to control due to its lesser recoil. The ammo for AK-203 is lighter(7.62x39) than SIG-716(7.62x51) which means more ammo can be carried by a soldier and that the gun is lighter. AK-203 has an effective range of 300-400 metres which is enough for the LOC.

Bro US special forces don't use Sig 716 just Police and Swat uses it that too in small numbers. The SIR for US special forces are HK 416 assault , HK417 battle rifle and DMR which is the latest in firearms and MK 16 assault rifle and MK17 battle rifle. The only Sig rifle used by only one branch of Special forces of America i.e, JSOC is Sig MCX.

Sig is not reliable as an AK. Sig will jam in combat. It's a fragile rifle, needs a lot of mentainance. Useful for special forces... Or special purposes like Border security. For Regular Infantry, and India's rugged environment AK203 is best. And equally accurate and fires a higher velocity round of 7.62 X 39

AK uses 123 gr @2200 fps and effective range of 200m in a real world scenario. The 7.62x51 is 145gr at 2700 fps. Effective easily upto 800m. Sig 716 is a battle rifle with heavy 7.62×51 caliber round. It is only useful in full scale war. It is not useful for fighting with terrorist in Kashmir because it has only 20 round magazine and has a great recoil in compare of ak 47. So I think ak 203 used in Kashmir in future due to less recoil.

I think you should prefer a bad guy being taken out by a trained marksman with a single round to some member of the militia killing him by spraying thirty rounds in his direction (and also killing a child in the house behind him). And if you had EVER fired these weapons changing a mag in a SIG/AR platform is incredible quick compared to any AK. Dont get me wrong - both are good rifles, calibers, and have their functions/uses. AK 203's effective range is less than 400m. It's known for its reliability and the armed forces are well versant with AK series and it's very cost effective. SIG is used for troops in the front line where range is also important and usually battles happens in excess of 400m, and hence range with accuracy is important(buts it's very costly) unlike urban warfare where most of the times range is less than 100m where AK 203 is very effective but it's accuracy is not good in excess of 300m which is not suitable for battle front lines warfare in excess of 400m. Please do some research rather than just reading newspapers and wikipedia lines.

There is no comparison between these two different purposes rifles. Wherein AK 203 is a main assault rifle and SIG is a special purpose heavy weight long range rifle that fires .308 heavy rounds it has a good range and can be used as a mid range sniper with a scope but it has its limitations as it is heavier with more recoil and soldier can carry limited ammunition. On the other hand AK 203 is more rugged and tested all season rifle.
