@@Shantanupaluhi what do u think those AC who are not promoted even after 15 -16 yrs are not capable enough . It all depends on Vacancy and inner politics. If capability is the only thing then why Capf has the highest superannuation rate. Why Capf has been approaching to court for cadre review since long ? To my mind ARMED FORCES IS best in comparison to timely Promotion and getting enough chances for Permanent commission for SSC officers. In 13 yrs every lt. Becomes Lt . Col and equivalent rank in navy and airforce . Review your decision.Also Facilities is superior in Armed Forces.

Guys anyone preparing should keep their priority 1 as Armed forces only. And also prioritise airforce via afcat over CAPFs unless one has some special liking for it. But CAPFs are good option if you couldn't clear SSBs after multiple attempts. Basically it's a backup. Also cds exam is way easier than capf even paper 1 where capf is more aligned with cse prelims. Armed forces demand SSB to be cleared after studying bare minimum for to clear cds exam you should dedicate yourself completely to ssb & you'll clear it.

Lt is pay level 10 so is capf ac and police dsp. But captain is at higher pay level (basic pay) than level 10 i.e. capt at level 10 B So, army capt has higher pay level and basic pay also the erstwhile grade pay than capf ac and police dsp. Same is the difference between capf 2ic and army lt col Capf 2ic is at pay level12 which is part of pay band 3 with lower grade pay whereas lt col is at pay level 12 A which is part of pay band 4 and has higher grade payand basic pay of course.. @@AnushkaSingh-uc3ho well. i am preparing for civil services. What worked for me in prelims and these exams is analysing previous years, it is must to understand the theme of UPSC going through all the options. Then prioritise topics from these PYQS according to weightage. In booklist i always followed Laxmikanth, Spectrum, for ANCIENT MEDIEVAL i referred to coaching booklet, GENERAL SCIENCE book of arihant, for ENVIRONMENT i studied various topics from internet and Physics wallah book(which is short), ECONOMICS i did initially from sri ram ias booklet( value addition through important current affairs) GEOGRAPHY can be done through ncerts( if you don’t get then can refer any notes on internet). ART AND CUL- any coaching short notes which is covering the syllabus. CURRENT AFFAIRS is very much vast i didn’t rely on any magazine, you can follow any magazine or half-yearly and yearly compilation. Apart from these you can read newspaper. Never made any notes, lots of short notes are available on internet you can select whatever suits you for quick revision. This worked for me, it can vary person to person, each and every material is good. you should build your concepts of tackling questions. And remember: PYQs are key and theme.

Army lieutenant = CAPF asst commandant. Pay Level 10 , insignia doesn't mean anything, there's no equivalence through insignia. It's established through grade pay. Captain is in pay band 11 , CAPF asst commdt is in pay band 10.
