You are doing the best thing for Boris! Keeping him on the road is the responsible thing to do. Having numbers matching nuts and bolts etc., not so much! Good work on being a good steward of the Landy tradition.

Please make sure you use stainless steel fixings wherever possible, highly recommend using dinatrol first for the cavities and then a top coat of Lanoguard once dry, after multiple applications of everything on the market and 35 years of bulkhead swaps, this is my go to recipe. Keep up the great work, we all have to learn sometime…

Watching the start of the video, it was like hearing myself when I bought my 110. A new chassis and bulkhead later, I'm happily worrying about other stuff 😂

New dash wiring loom might be a good one to add to the list. Additionally how about a heated windscreen?
@BorisTheDefender Жыл бұрын
Both would be a nice addition! Heated windscreen would be very helpful

Be a great video to see. Will need to change my bulkhead in a year or 2 I think. Tip maybe to label as many wires if you can see where they go. Makes fault finding and modification easier. I chased a cable for hours and it didn't do anything.

Good idea! Yeah need to spend some time doing that!!

Very daunting job! I'm sure that we'll end up in exactly the same position, since we also maintain a Land Rover that we intend to keep forever. No signs of it yet for us, but for sure one day we'll endure the same task. I even have a savings pot going to help fund it when the time comes! Good luck to you with the job, I'm sure you will definitely get it done, and we will definitely look forward to the associated videos.

I’m not sure actually sorry. Have a look at the DDS website. I can imagine it isn’t more expensive

I know you’ve removed the sill rails as you have the bars on the side but for anyone else doing this definitely replace the sill rails and hardware at the same time. I had to completely cut mine out when replacing the outriggers as they had rusted so bad that the bolts sill rail and A Pillar feet had become one!
@BorisTheDefender Жыл бұрын
Yeah mine were extremely difficult to remove! Cheers
