Before the rise of the major religions over the last few thousand years, gods were not popularly imbued with any ideal or especially admirable qualities. Ditto - slavery, cruelty, genocide, etc. Unless we can't say anything, ever, about right and wrong, we can certainly assert that, in an age where we have begun to experience non-dictatorial societies, dictatorshiop is not of God, but of what people can understand as their concept of Satan.

The invading communists started the Vietnam and Korean wars, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, starting America’s involvement with WWII. The War of 1812 was essentially started by Brits kidnapping American sailors, Desert Storm was initiated by Husseins threatening of Kuwait and refusal to deescalate. America “started” The Civil War, The Mexican War, and Iraq. If you’re looking to decide which party is more warlike, it might be wiser to look at the circumstances of the war and whether or not getting into the wars was a good idea. If you look WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, Democrats were in power when they started. But the only one that was truly optional and might have been a mistake was Vietnam. Does anyone think we could have stayed out of WWII after the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor or out of the Korean War after the North Koreans invaded the South? What would the world be like if we had? On the other hand, the Spanish-American war, and the atrocious suppression of the liberation movement in the Philippines that followed were under the watch of the Republicans. Since Vietnam, the Republicans have definitely been the more warlike party. They were in power when we invaded Grenada and Panama and during Desert Storm and the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.
