Rough game from the start. Defensive lapses, turnovers in our own zone, missing the net on prime chances over and over. Credit to the sharks who capitalized on the wings’ mistakes and responded quickly, but this game was ugly from the wings. Some positives to take away… more shots, far more attempts, more chances, more face offs, far more o-zone time. Gus still looked good this game and made a very slick pass off the back wall. Senko scored 2. The response against Florida is going to be very telling of who this team really is and where they’re going. Don’t need to win it, but have to show that we can play with the best teams in the league. LGRW.

Someone told me the wings had this one in the bag. I responded with, a team searching for a win is a dangerous animal. Todd stipulated how he wanted a practice to address weaknesses observed during the onslaught against Seattle. It was evident he was right on. The wings mimicked old familiar from the old regime. It will take time. The peeling of an onion for the team to establish a new familiar that Todd is here to establish.

Those of you blaming Husso, yes he needs to be better than that but the team is BRUTAL in front of him defensively. Holl turnovers were BRUTAL, shorthanded breakaway was BRUTAL, wide open backdoor pass was BRUTAL. Husso needed to get his confidence and be eased back into the NHL, Holl hangs him out to dry a minute into the game. Yes it seems like he is cursed at this point and probably needs a change of scenery, but putting it all on him is just stupid. People always say he lets in softies but I didn't see any softies, obviously you hope he saves one or two of those but the team hung him out to dry on every goal.
@captbloodbeard16 сағат бұрын
@@danb239 he absolutely was hung out to dry, but also a low speed wrister from above the hash marks with no traffic in front, that's a softie. Both of these things can be true
@danb23913 сағат бұрын
@captbloodbeard There was some traffic, and he made a point blank save right before that. He definitely wasn't expecting it to go from Holl's stick directly to the other team right in front of the net. Also happend like a minute into the game, Husso has struggled in the NHL, nerves high and confidence low. Team needs to to a better job in front of him so he can get his confidence back. Not saying he is perfect by any means but that was even worse than how they played under Lalonde. This fanbase blaming the loss entirely on him is stupid. Mclellan even said they didn't lose the game because of goaltending.

Give Husso the “he needs a change of scenery” bus ticket and cut our “losses”. If you demote him to the minors, he’s just blocking an actual goalie from getting experience. Bring Augustine or Cossa up for the four game swing and give them a game and leave Hossa at home IF you don’t cut him outright. I think Todd was way too easy on Husso with “he could have made one save and I don’t know which one” or the “this wasn’t on the goaltending” attempted to cover up a disgusting job by Husso! If you know he doesn’t have it, cut your darn losses! Geez!

Husso is bad, can we stop with the defense let them down? three of the five goals should have been stopped with out any doubt, I played goal for 16 years and your pads do not go of the ice in close quaters when facing a shot. It was a major deal to let shots go through you or anywhere through your five hole. The only way the wings can win with Husso is if they score 4-5 goals because he sucks.

@lbt78214 сағат бұрын
ALL THE HUSSO HATE IS LAZY!!! Its easy to always blame the goalie. You cannot blame the coach or the goalie for everything. Players are accountable here. The defense is not that good besides Seider and Edvinsson. And they are still young and learning. The big off season move to get a top defensemen fell thru so we have to be patient. People just want a quick fix to something that will take time whether they like it or not. Whether we make the playoffs or not does not change the fact we need better players on defense.

Husso stinks, not crazy about Talbot either. Lyon's the best they have, if doesn't play most of the games they're not making the playoffs. How many years in the minors does ASP have to play before Yzerman figures out he can play at the NHL level? Answer at least 5.Just like Cossa & Augustine. As soon as I saw Husso was in goal I knew they were not winning. Hope that's not the 2 pts that costs a playoff spot🤷🏻♂
@captbloodbeard22 сағат бұрын
Dude, rushing dmen and especially goalies is a great way to ruin them. ASP isn't even in the minors yet. He chose to stay in Sweden, the kid is still just 19 years old and everyone, including him, feels he still has more to learn where he is. Cossa is ready to get some reps in at the NHL level, but not to take over as a starter or anything, so at least in GR he's getting the majority of the games. Totally agree that I'd rather have him called up than Husso after Lyon's injury, I think he's earned it and the results would likely have been far better tonight. But Husso has played very well in GR lately, and the team wants to get rid of him so they probably figured to showcase him in an easy game, if he does well they maybe get someone to take him off our hands. Didn't work though. As for Augustine, he's still in college, and dominating as a 19 year old. That's good, he's learning and improving, but to think that he should be rushed up to the NHL next year is stupid. Goalies take lots of reps to develop into starters, and you don't want to go shattering their confidence. That's a great way to ruin them. There is nothing even remotely suspect about the development timetables for any of the players you mentioned.
@brian111219 сағат бұрын
Goaltending was why they lost. Period. They did not give up the amount of quality chances that would cause a goalie to give up 5 goals. A competent goalie gives up 2 or 3 goals in this game. The first 2 goals allowed were stoppable and Husso didn’t stop either.
