Update 1) Starting from angular 1.2.0, "promise.always" has been renamed to "promise.finally" (19:15) github.com/angular/angular.js/commit/f078762d48d0d5d9796dcdf2cb0241198677582c 2) Starting from Angular 1.2.0, you cant use promises in the template directly (21:30)

Beware: since angular 1.2, promises can't be "unwrapped" by the template engine automatically anymore (part described at around 22:00 of the video)
