I giggled at the way you tore into the packet instead of cutting the plastic around it. That's me to the ditto. I was all confused on how to set the time as the instruction paper was mentioning the opposite way to push down to set it.. Boy was it wrong. I don't know if the device has changed from 4 years ago but my exact defiant timer has the switches down if you want it on and up when you want it off. the instructions that came with also say the same; down for on and up for off. just fyi. great video

THE BEST instruction on this model . I purchased 2 yesterday and when I started to read the instrutions ( NOT SO GOOD ON THE DIFIANT SHOWN HERE ) I went balistic with them !! Apparently this model has 2 versions coming out of assembly. I and based off of your comment most likely you have the reverse one. This is why I did the video because of you read the comments, a lot of people have the same one with reverse instructions. Thanks for commenting and #StaySafe

How does it work with a lamp that has an on/off switch itself? I assume you need to leave the lamp ON and let the timer turn it off during the hours you Dinny want it on? But that’s not working for me. Advice?

Sorry for the late response and I'm sure you figured it out by now but in the event that you didn't, you'd leave the lamp switched on and let the device power on and off the lamp simply by providing and cutting power to the lamp at whatever intervals you set it for. Thank you for watching

The pins were supposed to be PUSHED down - not pulled up. Not sure how the pulled up version worked for you. Didn't work for me and the manual says to have them pushed down. Interesting ...

I set it up per the first half of the video. Of course it did not work correctly. Then I went back and noticed there was more video left and then did the reverse of what you said at the beginning. Perhaps a good idea to edit the first half out altogether.

Turns out there was a quality control issue with these timers where a large batch of them were done in reverse. Which is why if you read the majority of my comments you'll see that they have the same one that I have where it's in reverse. Thank you for watching and #StaySafe
