Defiant Solar Motion Detection Security Light Review and Install

Thank you so much! The instructions left out a few steps, like using a super tiny Phillips screwdriver to remove the two tiny inset screws on the small panel on the solar panel holding the mounting ball. Now I can get at the four holes on the mounting panel to mark their positions. Using a pencil to do so as they state is impossible unless the lead protrudes more than 1/2 inch from the wood! I called Defiant, they told me to look at the video on HomeDepot.com, chat line person sent link for wrong video, but at least I found yours on KZbin. Now I can do my install! Thanks again.

Purchased Defiant model #DFI-0452-WH from Home Depot which is similar to the model you review. It detects motion but only strobes. Troubleshoot guide says caused by inadequate battery charge. I let charge for 3 days but still strobes. When it is initially turned on it glows bright and steady for 1 minute like it should so I question the inadequate charge. Wish you would have gone over troubleshooting issues because I'm feeling this is a P.O.S.

Have you had problems with the light on the 'auto' setting not reaching full brightness? If I switch it to 'on' it gets bright, but when I'm on auto and it comes on it isn't nearly as bright.

This is by far the biggest junk that I ever bought. It's not even a year old and it can't even hold a charge. Never again.
