FUN FACT: This song is made in harmonic minor, (idk the key) meaning he raised the 7th note of whatever key he was playing in by a halfstep. For example, lets say he made the song in "a minor," this would mean he raised the note "G" to "G#"; it's that simple. It's funny, too, because north african music, along with much of african music in general, has an almost different notation system(the harmonic minor scale, along with its relatives, is a strictly western idea); yet we associate the harmonic minor scale with this type of music, take note that the harmonic minor scale works in any key and will have the same tone quality and sound as it does in this song, which makes it so easy to tell. Which, in hindsight, shows modern artists' lack of knowledge towards world music.

Equal temperment tuning has been used for centuries, and has little to do with the scale at which music is made, plus, this basic info seems to open potential, more than sound like silly thoughts; and, in it's core, is but a simple fact, not meant to carry the whole weight of a Music history lesson. I'd be surprised to hear this scale used in something that isn't related or thought to be related to arabic style music. I am but a humble man, looking to educate the musicians of tomorrow, as you are.
