Type 4 hair is the most unique versitile hair on this planet we can manipulate it into any style and curl pattern yet other hair types can't mimic our type 4 hair.. It amazes me how you can look at a type 4 and think its super short then when you stretch a curl out it flows all the way down your back.. I literally forget how long my hair really is until I pull my curls down because shrinkage is an illusion of what the true length actually is. Black hair is absolutely amazing to me the abilities it has and the versatility is endless.

Tray yes! Type 4 hair (and sometimes type 3) is the only type that looks thicker and d nser as it gets longer. Looser hair types loose their perceived thickness as their hair gets long

wash n GO really only works with type 3 hair... apply some product n do a lil comb thru cuz their curls are already defined when wet. our hair, 4c, is not defined (without some manipulating) AT ALL 🗿
@christinapowell45934 жыл бұрын
@@nileriver1632 i have 4c, 4b mix . Mostly 4c and can get away with a wash and go and a little bit of leave in conditioner. Just depends on the moisture already in the hair I guess . My hair is soft, and my coils are defined
@CinemaDoll1373 жыл бұрын
@@nileriver1632 so true. The style, wash and go, only became popular because Type 3's were shoved to the forefront of the movement and many of us who didn't even know that what works for them did not work for us, were doing everything we could to mimic them. Since they were at the forefront, many of us believed that's what all natural hair is suppose to look like and if it didn't, something was wrong.

have you ever done bentonite clay rinse? Protective Princess did that to train her 4c wash n go, and me as well. it makes it faster because your curl trains before product is even applied. Also have you ever tried hair grease over 100% lanolin? i like the blue magic indian hemp. I began it 4 months ago and also stopped washing my hair. I just apply grease on the dry old hair, the lanolin, then wet from root to tip and lanolin, water, lanolin, water, and final seal with grease, then band my hair into fake "cornrows". every 3 weeks. My hair has begun growing 1 inch every 3 weeks since I do this, for the past 4 times. That's 4 inches in less than 4 months. I recommend it, I learned this from the african chebe women(they use grease, and never wash their hair)

I got here from StarPuppy. I know this comment is long but please bear with me. This weekend I bought two TGIN products from their Miracle RepaiRX collection. l went whole hog and brought the Deep Hydrating Hair Mask and Protective Leave In condition. I wash with Shea Moisture low porosity protein free shampoo followed by palm sized amount cheap instant coconut oil conditioner layered under lots of mask. My hair loved the new mask by In the way. I wore a plastic cap without heat for 90 minutes. Rinsed then and while keeping my hair soaking wet I applied the TGIN instant leave in and started styling my wash and go with an even mix of Taliah Waalib Curl Gello and As I Am curling smoothie. I combed this curling duo through section of my hair with my fingers and a denman brush until it started clumping and separating. My hair dries so quickly in the process so I kept misting with water before I moved on to the next section. When my hair was finally coiled all over I shook all the water from my hair. My hair is the longest on top and it is the thinnest. I could shake loose the products from top and crown. However, the hair strands on the sides and back shrunk tighter and close to the scalp. I honesty believe when I shook my head I nearly gave myself whiplash bc the hair on back and sides stayed sopping wet. My wash and go looked great in the beginning. It felt so moisturized. My wash and go is three days old and it is fading. I spritz with water in the morning. Even though the curls on the sides and back spring up, back of the crown which is gray white, is frizzy without curl definition. Should I keep spritzing at night too to restore moisture? Should I add oil to water spritz. When I rewash, should I eliminate/add a step or product? Or give up the wash and go? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!!

Great video! Thanks for putting this together for us! Came at right time for me. Had a set back with my hair as I went to a "natural expert" hairdresser for a trim and she cut too much.... Anyway back on the wash n go routine. How do you keep your wash n go moisturised throughout the week? I have high porosity fine hair and I find that if i dont moisturize daily my hair gets really dry in this style. Only thing is mosturizing can upset the definition AND make my hair gummy/sticky through the build up I think. Do you experience this? If so, how do you overcome it? Thanks :)
@HealthyAfroHair6 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! Sorry to hear about your salon experience, you must have been really annoyed 😏 Anyway, to help keep my wash n go moisturised I tend to either spritz my hair a bit of water, apply my leave-in or just add coconut oil. I do get some slight frizzing when I add water, but then I sometimes add coconut oil on top, which helps just slightly. Also the style only lasts about 3, maybe 4 days (before getting really frizzy) so I’ll just rock a high puff or another style till wash day.

So I tend to wear them for about 2-3 days and when I moisturise at night, I keep my hair stretched with large stretchy bands.

I find that wetting my 4c hair after detangling helps shorten the process and calls for less product.

Is your hair still wet or did you apply the gel when your hair was dry? I’m used to everyone saying make sure your hair is soaking wet.

Just seen your message! It was slightly damp, but more on the dry side. But it can be done on both wet or dry hair. I’ve done it completely dry as well and achieved great results.

Welcome back! You and your hair are so pretty! *Length check, please! Congrats in your newborn! How many does that make, 3?♥️😊

Thank you so much. Yes, I need to do a length check video, just not too sure when yet. But that’s correct, I have 3 children now 🤗💕

do you band your hair every night??

When I used to wear this style, I banded it nightly to preserve the style.
