doom 2016 do be slow, I didn't even think I could beat eternal on ultra violence on the xbox, until I wiped the floor with the first marauder

I disagree. It has less stuff, yes but, it's not as good at teaching you how to use it. It's also not balanced real well. I'm glad it succeeded since that gave us Doom Eternal and brought Doom back into the fold in general. But, it was very much an experimental title. They were throwing things at the wall to see what stuck.

to be fair, the game might actually be slower. the devs have spoken about how if Eternal was a controlling a high-tech fighter jet than the dark ages would be like being a tank.

This new Doom game is a prequel that happens after Doom 64 and before Doom 2016, when Night Sentinels found Doomguy in their world, brought him to their home and made him into Doomslayer. So we gonna witness how a Doomguy from Doom 1, 2 and Doom 64 became a Doomslayer AND THEN probably more. I bet they gonna reveal more info on Quakecon and even show gameplay in it's full glory.

man i loved DOOM (2016) the whole point and best tip i got for that game was if you stand still you are gonna die real quick.......which then made eternal all the more confusing for me as not only is the ammo for each gun cut in half from 2016 but you have to be precise with each gun and shots and slow down to hit certain points on the demon and some guns only work on some demons where as in 2016 i got my super shot gun and never looked back i hope dark ages is more 2016 and less enterally boring and frustrating

If y'all haven't played any DOOM games before, I'd recommend 2016 first for sure. It was my first DOOM game, and then I played Eternal when it first came out. After that, I wanted to experience the classic DOOMs, so I went back and played them all. My conclusion: every DOOM game is fun, and it's still fairly easy to get into, even on Normal difficulty (Hurt Me Plenty). But there's no shame in playing on easy too (I'm Too Young to Die) as long as y'all have fun and experience the entire game.

Doom 2016 is a little bit easier than Eternal. But I had more fun playing Eternal than the 2016 game. I can’t wait for The Dark Ages.

In terms of game order, Doom 2016 would come before Doom Eternal as there are connections, but also Doom 2016 is definitely easier/simpler than Doom Eternal, on top of that since Doom Eternal has more refined gameplay it would be better starting with Doom 2016 and then going to Doom Eternal, as then you'd be upgrading in gameplay instead of downgrading

Doom 2016 is more straightforward, its a modernization of the classic Doom games, DOOM Eternal has so many resource mechanics that if you don't understand and are able to juggle you can't play it efficiently, like chainsaws giving health/flame-belch granting armor and it's kinda like a combination of DOOM mechanics and a fighting game/Dance-Dance Revolution in a sense Both games play a lot faster than your average FPS game in modern times and you can't approach them like FPS games nowadays, playing safe and using cover doesn't work you gotta get in there with half a plan and improvise which is what sets it apart from everything else.

Honestly doom 2016 is a 7 out of 10 game, doom eternal is a masterpiece. It’s “harder” but it’s masterful how it teaches you to be good. Higly recommend just playing eternal.

Play Doom Eternal. It's a got more stuff than Doom 2016 but, is better at teaching you how to play and, is balanced WAY better, difficulty wise. Doom 2016 was 100% a game for Doom fans. Doom Eternal has something for everyone and is absolutely huge. :)

Not that the story is THAT important, but if you wish to know about it start with 2016. Or you can start with Eternal so you can truly experience DOOM at it's peak.
