Irene advantages: Higher damage, crowd control, better able to deal with crowds. Degenbrecher: Fuckin all of the above but even better at it. Seriously, it's absolutely ridiculous.

Well, I mean... She kills up to 6 shieldguards within her range, even if they were somehow flying, with one skill activation. Every 30 seconds. She's also untargetable during that. And all her damage is proportional, so buffs are very effective

With her, she makes RS-6 to RS-8 a breeze. So glad I got her. Also if I may add, what makes her really good and how Degen is able to do so much damage is her talent. The fact her talent lets her pierce through defense, more enemy defense = more pierce, is insane. Do correct me if I am wrong though. Anyway, considering the amount of good limited operators we’re getting…I may need to get more money than what I get for being a seasonal tutor Edit correction: the fact her Tremble talent makes it where the affected enemies cannot normally attack is even more insane. It is no wonder Sciel and other Arknights KZbinrs uses Degen so much in IS stages.

If you don't have boss killers or only have 1 of these (Mlynar, Typhon, Surtr, Chalter, Texalter) go for Degenbrecher. If you don't have high pressure defenders (Saria, Hoshiguma, or Nian) go for Shu.

Her module is a decent chunk of her dps since tier 1 is a flat 10% atk_scale bonus for her skill, tier 3 taker her talent 1 from 160% to 170% and gives an extra base 50 attack. If you're pulling degen then her module is fairly mandatory to maximise her potential killing power.
