What I missed about _Asylum_ is that the Fear Toxin hallucinations were actually scary and even broke the fourth wall (all inspired by the _Eternal Darkness_ game). _Knight_ , despite being Scarecrow's grand return, did not have good hallucination sequences (except that final one where you play as the Joker in a first-person perspective).

Yeah that was a great addition to the game the scarecrow boss fights in this game are some of my favorite from the trilogy.

That’s probably one of the biggest let downs of Batman Arkham Knight. Scarecrow had a lot of good monologues over the television system in Gotham in that game, but there weren’t very many good hallucinations that were actually scary. I thought they did a good job, tying the joker in as a psychological threat and I really like that, but they focused so much on the psychological threat of joker overriding Bruce Wayne’s personality that they didn’t focus very much on those hallucinations actually being startling or unsettling.

Scarecrow in general just gets shafted in anything he’s in. He always boils down to a dude making puns and making people afraid, when he has the potential to let us explore the psyche of basically every character he interacts with.

That morbid humor is exactly why Mark Hamill's Joker is my favorite iteration of the character. He's scary sometimes, but is hilarious in a super dark way too.

People forget how much weightier Asylum was, the enemies didn’t feel like boneless rag dolls as much in this game. Arkham Knight I love but the enemies feel like balloons and the clipping is insane, which is a shame. Asylum is still so goddamn polished.

What I love about asylum that feels lost in the other games is the fact that asylum just drops you in the world of Batman. You're rewarded for being a fan because the style makes it feel like you're in the world, playing as batman. Once Arkham became it's own universe, part of that was lost

Also if you don't look at the Joker, he actually changes his stance. What's really creepy about this is that sometimes there would be multiple jokers, and some of them wil change their stance at the same time.

I liked to explore the world when I played and when I first visited the visitor center I thought it was so different from the rest of the game with the different perspective. I found the first experience interesting so when I revisited out of curiosity shortly after and saw he would say new dialogue, it was entertaining and I made it my quick side quest after each main objective completed I’d go visit to see what he’d say next. I really liked it

I like the fact that the joker is actually trying to be serious half the time and just absolutely nuts the other half, I feel like it stays true to the joker's personality. (8:19)

I never thought to go in the first time because Joker said he’d have Harley kill Gordon, so I just assumed it would be a game over. Then by the time I rescued Jim, I just forgot about it and didn’t think to go in.
