🇫🇷 Après avoir réédité l'ensemble des 8 albums qui composent sa discographie en vinyle, le beatmaker Degiheugi présente son nouveau projet « Remixed Treasures ». Le sien ? Pas exactement, puisqu'il s'agit d'un album de remixes, exercice auquel le producteur s'est attelé pour la première fois de sa carrière.
Un projet qui porte bien son nom, car tels des aventuriers des fonds marins, les remixers invités sur cet album se sont vu confier parmi les morceaux les plus marquants d’une carrière de plus de 20 ans pour les revisiter à leur manière. Au programme : L'Orange, Moderator, Souleance, iZem, The Architect, Senbei, Al Tarba, Mounika, DJ Vadim, La Fine Equipe, Kognitif, ProleteR et Scratch Bandits Crew composent le casting XXL de cet impressionnant cross over à la croisée des genres (hip-hop, électro, ambiant, drum & bass, jazz...) et réunissant pas moins de 13 beatmakers issus de différentes scènes et générations. Si Degiheugi nous offre quelques collaborations familières avec The Architect, Al’Tarba, Senbeï ou encore Mounika., il est aussi allé chercher des beatmakers ne faisant pas partie de son cercle premier comme le pionnier DJ Vadim, l'américain L'Orange, le duo Souleance ou encore iZem et Moderator.
Et pour la pochette ? Nul autre que le peintre espagnol Dulk pour une association colorée dont on ne cesse de vanter la cohérence et l’esthétique depuis plusieurs albums.
A la suite de sa série de rééditions, Degiheugi présente donc le 21 avril 2023 ses « Remixed Treasures » (quasiment 2 ans jour pour jour après la sortie de son dernier album "Foreglow"), comme le point final de cette grande rétrospective sur sa discographie passée. Tout en restant fidèle à sa réputation d’orfèvre de la musique, l'artiste se mue aujourd’hui en un minutieux chef d’orchestre, choisissant un à un ses musiciens pour donner vie à une osmose qui ne s’estompe jamais, leur laissant humblement le devant de la scène.
🇬🇧 After having reissued on vinyl the 8 albums composing his discography, French beatmaker Degiheugi presents his new project "Remixed Treasures".
His new project ? Not exactly, as it is the first remixed album in the producer’s career.
A project that bears its name well. Like seabed adventurers, the remixers have been asked to rework in their own way some of the most significant tracks of a career spanning more than 20 years. Starring L'Orange, Moderator, Souleance, iZem, The Architect, Senbei, Al Tarba, Mounika, DJ Vadim, La Fine Equipe, Kognitif, ProleteR and Scratch Bandits Crew, the XXL cast of this impressive crossover melts genres (hip-hop, electro, ambient, drum & bass, jazz...) and brings together no less than 13 beatmakers from different scenes and generations. If Degiheugi offers us some familiar collaborations with The Architect, Al'Tarba, Senbeï or even Mounika., he also went looking for beatmakers from outside his first circle such as the pioneer DJ Vadim, the American L'Orange, duo Souleance or iZem and Moderator.
And for the cover? None other than Spanish painter Dulk for a colorful association whose coherence and aesthetics have been praised for several albums, this time in an underwater register.
Following its series of reissue, Degiheugi is now presenting his "Remixed Treasures" on April 21, 2023 , as the final point of this major retrospective on his past discography. While remaining faithful to his reputation as a goldsmith of music, the producer turns himself into a meticulous conductor, choosing his musicians one by one and leaving them the front stage to give birth to an osmosis that never fades.

I was getting some work done while KZbin was going on in the background, not even skipping ads because of how focused I was. Suddenly, I noticed what sounded like a nice remix of a song I recognized. Thought to myself "ah, nice remix" but kept working diligently. Then, I noticed another one and thought, "OK KZbin, you are doing pretty good today," but still, I kept working. By maybe the third one, I couldn't help but think: "Wow, whoever is behind these degiheugi remixes is on point. I have to subscribe and check out their music." So I stopped what I was doing, looked at the video, and came to the realization - it's by the original master. Congratulations on this creation and all the ones before it that made this possible. I am quite fond of your music, and I wish you many years of success and abundance.
