I think the difference here was that Spinner and Jay didn't frame Jimmy for the whole thing so Rick had no reason to after Jimmy first. He'd have gone after Emma instead (who was with Sean) and Sean gets shot protecting Emma. So Rick might still be alive in this world, locked up in Juvie or something.

I think what happened was that Jay and Spinner never framed Jimmy for the prank, so he just went for Emma instead of Jimmy. Since he wasn't in shock over having already shot Jimmy he was more confident going after her, it was easier to shoot and Sean got shot protecting her. Rick might even be alive in this alternate.
