I had my doubts when they put in Rasha & Goldi thinking that they were doing it for "Ratings" but it was such a brilliant move. Zoe & Rasha are fantastic together! I can't get enough of them.

But WTF, Degrassi. Having LGBT kids and Syrian kids at a Canadian school is great, but you do not prioritize like that. Each group should have their own room, not a bloody closet. That's like giving one group the middle finger. e_e This is a big ass school, so they have no excuse. Having them compete is worse, and won't solve the issue. Now they have Kate & Rana on Britian's Longest Running Soap Opera Coronation Street. Rana's Family found out what she did being with a Woman, they tried to kidnap her to Pakistan, but Kate saved her in time, as did Rana's Brother a Lawyer. They even caught them together.

actually, not all gay women like the term lesbian. Zoe has always referred to herself as 'gay' rather than 'lesbian', so maybe she prefers that. And for a source, take it from me, a gay woman:)

What's clearly the case here is that Zoe never had genuine feelings for any guy she was with in the past. She only wanted them for validation or because everyone in society is born believing that being with the opposite gender is normal. Some people like Zoe believe that so strongly that them the idea of being gay, bisexual or pan never even crosses their mind until something happens to them to make them realize it. They did not change her character for the new show, this is who she was always meant to be and the signs were obvious. *Zoe Rivas is no different than Fiona Coyne.* Their stories directly mirror each other. Both dealt with addiction (Zoe-pill popping, Fiona-alcoholism), both went through something terrible regarding boys and both actually managed to get JUSTICE against their tormentors (Fiona was abused by her one boyfriend, Zoe was r**ed by 2 guys at a party while passed out drunk), both had feelings for their straight best friends (Fiona-Holly J, Zoe-Grace), both dated a guy who had strong feelings for them but only used them as beards because they weren't ready to accept who they really are (Zoe dated Winston to force herself to be straight and even self harmed throughout their whole relationship to further fight against the fact that she was gay, Fiona dated Adam but made the mistake of feeling under his shirt when they were making out and Adam realized that Fiona was only attracted to him because of his female body), both had complete breakdowns during these moments and were forced to finally face facts and admit it out loud to their respective boyfriends that they were gay, both went through a period of slowly becoming more comfortable and confident with their gay identities, both eventually found love with their perfect women (Fiona-Imogen, Zoe-Rasha), both ultimately had bittersweet endings to their stories on Degrassi (Imogen was held back and couldn't graduate with Fiona and Fiona got the opportunity of a lifetime to go to Italy for a fashion internship. Imogen wouldn't have Fiona giving up her dreams just for her so she broke up with Fiona and loved her enough to let her go even though it was hard for both of them. Zoe and Rasha didn't have to break up. She got her happily ever after with the woman she loves but at the cost of losing her mom forever.)
