4/23/21: Jacob deGrom absolutley dominates the Washington Nationals in a complete game shutout. He set a career high with 15 strikeouts and even added two hits and an RBI at the plate.

He is long and lean. Most of the torque comes from his frame. He may be able to keep this up for a few more years maybe well into his late 30's. Was still throwing 100mph late into the game

From 2014 to 2019 Jacob averaged 31 starts. 2020 in the 60 game shortened season he made 12 starts. Then made 15 starts in his injured 2021.season. If DeGrom can stay healthy he can set all kinds of records. Now if only he could get some run support. Guys like Jacob and Bumgarner and Greinke( when he was in the N.L.) are the main reasons the senior circuit doesn't need a DH.

The guys are clearly pressing, trying to do right by Jake. Next time he’s on the bump, maybe Luis should try starting as many of the bench guys and newer members of the team as possible, which also happens to be their best defensive alignment: Nimmo, Almora, Pillar in the OF; Smith, Villar, Lindor, and Guillorme on the IF; and whoever Jake wants behind the dish.

Our defense isn't an issue when deGrom is on the mound, it's our production offensivley. He will give up less than 5 hits an outing. We need runs to win, our best hitters at the plate. Pillar and Almora don't bring much to the table with their bats.
