Sure, i was not happy to see half the adverts openly saying that they want to hire women only. Thinking back however, if the practice was banned like how it was banned to say they would hire men only, would have only wasted my time trying to apply for jobs where they would have not hired me. Because here is the thing, they can stop putting it in the ad, but they will still discriminate. Laws against discrimination sound nice, but essentially they are unenforcable. You cannot take out discrimination from a process of discrimination, and its impossible to prove that someone was not hired becuase of their sex/race whatever when there are a bunch of candidates and the pick is after personal interviews. So yeah, i rather they tell me ahead that i would not be hired for being male or of caucasian descent, so don`t waste my time applying, filling out stupid forms and going to time wasting interviews. Doing job applications is often made obnoxious enough that they feel like an unpaid shitty job on their own, last one anyone needs is pointless overtime in that crap.

Interesting thing, freelancers don't usually count towards quotas and is often used to get around certain governmental roadblocks. For example, in South Africa there is BEE which makes it harder to hire white people/Indians, so they will use freelance and contract workers to get the job done. Similar limitation in South Korea where they need out of the box thinkers but their employment practices aren't as welcoming to foreigners, so same practice.
