I just love this song. It means so much. I just hoped that more people heard it. What a masterpiece.

The original is excellent but this version is a masterpiece 👍🤩 And I like that the C64 is used on the stage 👍

Danke.

Klangkunst in vollendeter Perfektion.

to be honest knowing nothing of the Odyssey interpretation before right now, recently I started to interpret it as kind of spiritual song. With return whence we came from, questioning whatever deity if they will be there if we need them... I'm an agnostic myself, but my mum was kind of spiritual. She loved DL the first time I played it (must be Veljanov's church trained voice ;) ). She passed away just 3 days ago, and I hope that she returns to where she believes we come from. Even if I believe it's all encompassing nothingness it's better than suffering. She believed, and she might be right, so she might be now in heaven, free from suffering.

Your memory is her heaven. The seeking know there's more than this reality and feel lost yet comfort when they go. To me the song is something about restlessness and seek home or reunite with a love of another life. The arrangement with the orchestra did Ernst really well to deliver the depth, romance and poetry of the song.

Waves in low tide Sounds of the night And my memories echo "Back again!" Stranger that I am In my own land Where no one will Remember my name When you hear me calling Will you be there? When you see me falling Will you be there? Time was the force Brought me back on course In the darkness Distant fires on a strand Time is my disguise Against hostile seeking eyes And the waves wipe out My footprints in the sand When you hear me calling Will you be there? When you see me falling Will you be there? Now my time has come Return into the sun 'Cause I've always been Searching for you If I win, if I loose No charge, no excuse All my wandering made sure: "My aims are true!" When you hear me calling Will you be there? When you see me falling Will you be there?

The beautiful musical introduction prepares me for the emotion I feel every time I listen to this song which is for me of infinite sadness. 😢 Who doesn't want to have someone who will be there when you call them or when they fall ? The problem of loneliness or estrangement from the loved one when we have lost everything, right down to memory.
