From a sales standpoint in this era of social media having recruits come to you generates more exposure to your program. Even if the recruit chooses another school, they have shown their friends, family, and HS teammates the University which leads to other players or schoolmates possibly enrolling.

Agreed bro! As a student of organizational development, I find it interesting that so many people say “trust the process” when the process is new and to a certain degree, unorthodox. It hasn’t had enough time and success to be tested and validated. Playing the lottery is a “process” to wealth, but there’s no predictability in it. Therefore, it’s more of a game of chance, not a bonafide process. If we are going to say the gold jacket is the draw, shouldn’t there be more 4-5 stars on the team? If it’s about the exposure to increase NIL revenue, how many people on the team are making more than 2K? How many will make it to the league with guaranteed money? I got love for coach Sanders. I just believe some fans are just that, fans.

Yes, it shows maturity and gratitude, like you care. It's the human element. This is why those coaches are so great. They sit down at the dinner table and meet with the parents and their family and have a serious discussion about life and the program. How are the parents going to get to know the man who they are sending their 17-18 year old to for the next 4 years? By going to colorado where his assistants will just show them around. Its selfish and I would never send my kid to colorado.

Coach prime hands down is the best person of interest for any kid that’s from the inner city of suburbs please take into account it only is this a business but this is also a reality in which this man ( coach prime ) has worn all of the hats from player , athlete, parent! Keep it real all those other high profile coaches has been eating off the backs of these young kids for decades and now that the playing field has changed and these young athletes can make money off of there likeness’ I generally salute them for doing so this man coach prime is basically setting them up to win only if they are. Committed to there dream !! Remember he’s the only coach that has seen it and been there who looks like them why not come play for that man and make there family proud it’s about establishing relationships on and off the field he says it all day he wants them to make money but he also want them to graduate and go to the next level!! When they leave high school they are considered legally adults and they have to approach this entirely different all that smoking , drinking and not studying and going to school ask yourself how to you expect to play ball that’s just talent wasted !! Kids need to be reminded of this all it takes is one mistake and the dream scan be gone , everyone is there until there not !! When these young men transfer ask yourself do you think it’s easier or harder to excel if there just chasing the bag ??

As a Colorado fan going back to the McCartney era, I'm not remotely bothered by CP not making in-home visits. The assistant coaches DO make in-home visits; if there's a connection, then the kid & his family is invited out to Boulder. His approach makes sense! BOULDER is where the kid is going to go to school -- that's what the kid and his family need to see. (And if you've ever been in that part of Colorado, you know the views are an asset.) The old school way of having a head coach sit in your living room is purely for the kid's ego. CP doesn't want a kid who needs that.

I kinda see both sides, but from Coach Prime's side I think it's all about the finances and a game plan. he's dealing more with transfers than anything(they don't need home visits), I think he said(or I heard someone say) the budget for recruiting was not up to par(I don't know what that cost is). He IS the biggest celebrity in ALL of college football(and is using that to his advantage for Colorado) so even though he can't do what everyone else is doing he CAN do other things that other programs won't be able to do(like promote every time he is interviewed - which is WAY more than any other coach in the country) plus in this new generation the rules are being re-written every day(and he's helping to re-write them). Social media is still being under-estimated in recruiting, Coach Prime has Well Off Media on his side, Reach The People Media on his side and The Pre Game Show.........Coach Prime has a different plan, let's see how it unfolds(we haven't seen everything yet) and how it works out(this is only year two)....I heard that new guy they have in the recruiting offices is no joke either(Ripress, not sure if I spelled that right) he's about that life.

Why is this a conversation? Coach Prime has always been a Leader not a follower and does things the way he envisions it, and going to a kids home doesn't guarantee anything, because of the money in college football. These players are not going to make a decision on where they want to play football, just because they got a home visit from any coach. Just imagine if coach Prime followed all the other Coaches and didn't film everything to even give us any kind of insight as to what goes on in Colorado or JSU? When Coach Prime took the job, they were already behind the 8 ball in recruiting late in the year, so they went out and got what was left in the portal and they still was better than the previous team,but now look at the talent level that they have assembled and these are former starters not backups ,they got grown men not a bunch of high school kids. Shedeur is going to throw for over 5,000 yards this season, just remember where you heard it first.

They ranked #2 in the portal, they signed nineteen 3-Star Players and three 4-Star Players. He is being LAZY and it is only obvious he is doing this for the interim. He is trying to put as much talent together in a short amount of time while his son is their and make as much money now before he leaves Colorado. It makes perfect sense, he told the University President I will bring revenue, tv deals, fill up the stands, put attention on the program for 2-3 years and then leave after his son is drafted. He doesn't have time to recruit which is what college sports is all about, recruiting. But he has time to fly all over the USA to be on Gayle King on CBS in New York, 60 minutes, Meet with Rappers, Celebrities, Do a Book Tour, Media Day in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. You see Im not a jock sniffer and im not a Fan boy, i do not worship these athletes. They are just figure heads on TV, they are not my family or friends i could care less. But Coach Prime is not a coach, he hires coaches to coach for him while he just gives motivational speeches. You never see him getting dirty in practice and actually teaching his players technique, you never see him in the film room with players. He doesnt even know his players names he has to read off of a sheet of paper every press conference its that bad.

I would be curious to hear CP's reason behind not doing in home visits. Is it a "show me the bag" from uncle Eddie that he is trying to avoid? Is it laziness on his part? Is he attempting to reverse the recruiting process? I don't know...what I DO know is that "4-8 ain't great" and in 24 we need to be bowl eligible in order to have ANY chance of gaining a foot hold in 2025 and beyond.

I think people to understand this. You can say that in home visits are old and you don’t need them for recruiting. That “might” be true. However, in home visits will ABSOLUTELY hell with retention which is a major issue. Because building a relationship with the family creates an advocate when it comes down to decision making. Like it or not, with all this money flying around, retaining players is far more difficult than it was.

Disclaimer: I'm just giving my opinion nothing more, not a super fan, not a cult member, not a anything but an opinion; unfortunately in society if you disagree with someone you have to be totally opposite to them rather than just giving a simple rebuttal/opposing opinion. We know Deion is not heavily recruiting high school players but still: Let's be logical and utilize reasoning here and totally disregard what someone does or doesn't feel. There is a significant difference between someone like Deion going to visit a home and 99.9% of the other coaches out there imo based on the following. 99.9% of the coaches in college are not going to require any significant strategy to get in and out of a location without being noticed. I can even say Nick Saban falls in this 99.9%. Some folks will disagree and that's fine. Let's consider at least one thing, social media is a driving force in how a large % of people in a particular location, who have available time, decide to spend that time, for at least the last decade now. Take the most popular college coaches besides Deion one might argue are Nick Saban (I know he is retired now), Kirby Smart, and Jim Harbaugh (coming off a national championship). How active are they on social media and what metrics could they move as it relates to people, business, etc if they announce or if it is known they are going to a particular location. And also let's remove the lore of the university as that is not relevant to the conversation because we are talking about an individual. Nick Saban very rarely uses social media; extremely rare. Kirby Smart I believe last most significant post is from at least a year ago, and Jim Harbaugh if you remove consider the totality of his activity and not just that surrounding recent championship interacts just as rarely. Also consider, though not "proven", if Deion visits a kid and another school with deeper pockets decide they want to fight for that recruit, that money is going to play a much larger part in getting that recruit than if the head coach showed up or not in a lot of the cases. It is much more likely to keep the recruiting of a kid under the radar having them visit Colorado. Deion was already hugely popular and a "celebrity" before joining collegiate coaching. He posts almost daily and he is in a lot of conversations nationally almost monthly if not weekly. His following and activity and reach (social media) dwarf probably at least the next 10 if not 20 coaches you can name. There is also risk management/metrics that have to be considered. While it is normal, traditional, etc to have the head coach to seal the deal on a high school recruit, it is reasonable to think reasonable/considerate parents/people will look at more than just Deion came to my house, on my turf, in my domain to seal the deal on such a decision. If it were me I would want to visit the university and really see if it is what it is being presented as. Is the food really on point and available at least 3 times a day, how would my kid get around this campus and what would their day to day interactions look like, take me to interact with people who are not normally in the videos, what do the dorms look like, etc. I would have a ton of probing questions leading to various interactions and I don't want to just be affirmed a thousand miles away in the comfort of my home I want to actually be at the place my kid is going to be at for potentially the next 4-6 years.

Millions started watching HBCU level football and became a fan of those JSU teams he coached, a fan of how he helped rebuild, rebrand, and restore winning into that football program, the university and the state of Mississippi. Coach saw it happen there and not one time during year one or after did anybody start crying about doing in-home visits.

@@Lionsandtruth the comparison is coaches and their draw or ability in getting recruits by way of in home visits or not doing it. Star power has shown that it garners certain people different levels of privilege. Coach Prime just happens to have a privilege level that other coaches don’t have and probably will never have. Can’t blame him or his gifts if the people he recruits and the families of these recruits are not crying about an in home visit. I bet if you interviewed some coaches and ask them how much money have they waisted on players that didn’t live up to stars ⭐️ I bet you’d be shocked how much money they could’ve saved if they had the cache, fandom and draw that Coach Prime has.

@GNXperimental his belief that Coach Prime needs to do it his way with home visits. He didn't do them at jackson State. Did you think it would change ? Everyone has an opinion on doing this, but who got the job and who doesn't. Everyone wants to dictate and hold some standards over people's heads. If it was so successful, why isn't he coaching at the college level or any level. Everyone loves the arena but can't handle the criticism. If wins are what matters, then give year two a chance. Cristobal is 12-13 over two years with a bowl in his second year. But keep going for the home visits, and the wins will come. Doing something different upsets the status quo. The old guard doesn't like it, but guess what? NIL says you can't keep doing it the same way. It's a business now, even with high school kids. He is looking for and stated several times, ready to start and some for depth development pieces. Not everyone is built for the moment, so why rush a high school kid when wins are what matters?

Nick Sabin did in home visits. He would fly his helicopter to a high school and land on there football field here in south Florida. There are videos of him doing the electric slide and eating at a recruit’s house. These are facts. Type in Nick Sabin electric slide and see for yourself

Nick Sabin doing the electric slide is like when Hilary Clinton said I keep how sauce in my purse" and our people applauded the back handed statement. Coaches are selling the kids on an image of themselves they want the kid to see.
