I had a friend who had what mister deeds had with his hands except it wasn't frostbite he did everything barehand and built up a tolerance. Also it's why I don't touch feet man you couldn't pay me man especially old feet, I swear once you get past 70 80 years old your toenails fall of and you get claws I can't explain my grandma's toes and nails the nail is like the falls it goes forwards then at the edge of the skin not even on some grow down, but also forward. I had a career-ending turf toe injury that I dealt with for years. People have no idea how much it hurts. It is like running with a rusty nail in your foot. I had to learn to run on the outside of my foot to keep pressure off of it.

I attenuated my 2nd plantar plate on the 2nd toe in 2013, after reading born to run, switching to low profile shoes, and running on the balls of my feet. Previously played sports for 25 years. It felt like stepping on broken glass with every step. It lasted 2 years after being mis diagnosed as a bone bruise among other things. So the injury became chronic vs acute. If you catch it immediately and rest it for 3-6 months in a boot with no activity it can heal on it's own. But I kept playing bbal on it and trying to run and it got worse and worse. 2015 it got better, well enough to hike / bike / walk in Hoka's but I can't run distance anymore, or play full court basketball. It's amazing how little is known by the general public about this injury. Seems like it would be a more common injury but little known about it.

I had a stiff big toe from always putting too much force on it when walking. I could barely move it, couldn't squat, couldn't even jog. Then I learned to use the ball of my foot when striding, and keep the toes relaxed. It gradually improved. After about 10 years of this, my toe moves almost like normal. The socket is almost spherical again. I can jog and exercise now.

I remember when he got that "toe jam football" playing for Dallas. He was known for speed and his kick off returns were legendary . Its good to actually see his foot because I had a hard time believing it when it happened. He was another one of those guys, that awesome for Dallas ball club, while he lasted. I just didnt want it to end for him cause of a little toe. He was super fast.

That's from wearing most sports shoes and cleats year after year and playing/training hours a day in them. The toe box of almost every athletic shoe maker is so narrow it forces your toes to bend in on each other. Most noticeably are always the big toe and pinky toe. When you run your toes naturally are supposed to splay, or widen out, to grip the ground. Nike's are the most prolific narrow- toed shoes. I don't understand why they don't widen their toe box. Look at LeBron's feet, they're the same jacked up toes from wearing his Nike's all day every game.

It's from lack of support in the transverse arch of the foot. One of the biggest injuries in sports is related to the foot. These teams overlook it. 3 surgeries and not one of his support team ever made him start using insoles with metatarsal pads. You would have to sign gag orders to put stuff in Olympic athletes shoes because the companies don't want to admit their shoes by themselves won't do it. Them doctors hacked him up, if I push in a certain spot he would scream. It's an overlooked thing. Heck if these athletes used them in their off time the would be so much better off.

That looks like classic plantar plate injury to me. They tried to do a basic hammertoe procedure and failed to repair plantar plate. Basically the bottom surface of the joint is supposed to be stabilized by its connections to the toe. It is injured, and the base of the toe is sort of untethered, so it pops up.
